Hi,
I've finally ordered my logo 500, it will have the following setup :
500 v-bar
hacker A40 10L E.T, 15 tooth pinion
TP 5000V2 6S, CC 85HV.
Concerning the servos, there will be airtronics 94758. Thoses servos are really powerful and fast. I had been running them on a 6V duralite regulator, but I'd like to know if a Western robotics 5A BEC would suit.
I think that someone on the forum is running it with JR 8717, so it should be OK.
Another thing :
Do I need 85mm or 92mm for the tail ?
Thanks,
Nicolas

I use the WR 5A BEC with 8717's.
I am not a good test case because I am only a novice - just basic sport flying for me, no 3d.
However the instructions say that it will get extremely hot when it is working hard, and I always check the temp after a flight, and it is cool to touch. Therefore it isn't even beginning to work hard.
I lost one of the capacitors (I think that is what they are - the two big brown cylinders hanging out one end) recently and they replaced it. Just be careful not to put any pressure on those capacitors when you strap it in. In reading the instructions of the new one, it says that it is tested at 40V, 5A for 48 hours continuous. This is pretty extreme testing so I'm sure for short pertiods it can handle a lot more than 5A, especially when only stepping down from 6S, not 10S.

For the tail you can use either 85 or 92, it doesn't matter. I like the stock ones, they work well.

are 92's max for any reason....I was gonna run 95 V-blade tails.

They will fit as well, but they start getting low to the ground and also with 550 or 560MM rotors i might get worried

Just ensure you run #3092 Xtrahard dampers if you choose to run 95mm with 560mm mains, and yes on the 5003D 95mm would be the absolute Max "running 560mm mains", I myself run 92mm tops as it leaves me some room for flex, 95mm gets very close ;)

Now if you run 550mm mains, 95mm tails are just fine.

95mm tails work fine as others have said. I'm currently running 95 radix on mine but they do get close to the ground and I have grazed them on a tail heavy auto landing before. I will most likely be swapping them with the 92mm radix I have on my Trex600 for this reason.

I have 85's on my Logo 500 with 550 blades and have fantastic tail authority. Too short for the 600 though :)

Thanks for your experience sharing.
I've bought 85 and 92 KBDD blades. I've also got 95mm Vblades.
I'll try and tell you ;)

Okay so :
92mm blades with 550mm rotortech blades => main blades touch tail blades in hard flight (you can barely hear it in tic tocs) I have hard dampers : Vbar head with 1KB yellow dampers (hard one, not extra hard, neither Medium) and an std oring in each side of the hub.
So : use 85mm blades to be safe !!

ouch! not good.
I have the same setup, vbar head, 550mm rotortechs and 85mm blades. to be honest, I get so much tail authority from the 85's that I can't imagine needing bigger ones.

Yes, 85mm is good for this heli. Even on a 600, with a good tail setup, you can do ALL you want with 85mm blades.
Nicolas
92-95mm on the 500 105mm on the 600 :)

'and a new set of blades' :-D
In fact with rigid blades and hard dampers it's OK to run 92-95 tails, but with std orings and flexibles blades as rt550 it is not !
gonna try Vs , torsion. or SAB soon !

I'm running 95mm blades with 560 mains with no problems even on hard stuff.

With my 600, I threw some 85mm tail blades on while I was waiting for some 92mm ones. It held _okay_, but not great. I also could not piro in FFF like I can with the 500.
Just FYI.

okay ;-)
in my case , i am flying in the backyard with stones & cans...Shorter is better ( my gf disagree xD)
Big fil : what kind of dampers do you use ?
I think rt 560 are waaay stiffer than mine.
