Hi:
I just purchased two:
OUTRAGE XP25 3S1P 11.1V 2200mAH 25C - XTREME POWER SERIES
I have four Kong batteries and have been happy with them, But ReadyHeli doesn't have their 2 pack sales anymore. SO I thought I'd give these a try.
Now with Kong they say you can't overdrain them, so I run them at about 6 min (practice hovering) or until my battery monitor starts to beep, or more often than not... my Scorpion ESC starts to reduce the power because the batteries are low. I recharge at 2.5 amps BTW...
Can I do the same with the Outrage batteries I just bought?

Kongs are great batteries, but I put the outrage right there with them in terms of consistency and reliability. I haven't had one of either puff (have owned 4 kongs, and currently 3 Outrages). The outrage 30c definitely have a little higher output than the kongs, are a little smaller, and come down nice and cool.
I hesitate to say you can't overdrain any battery - all lipos do best when not ran down far - but I haven't seen any problems from a few mistaken runs that left the 2200 outrage batteries taking back over 2200 mA charge.
My oldest outrage has about 60 cycles on it now, and still runs great. For longest life, following the 80% rule is recommended no matter what brand, but from what I can see, the outrage are just as reliable and resistant to puff as the kongs. I am running only outrage these days simply because of the size/weight being less.

You can charge them at 2C with no problems, we've been charging our 6S1P 1300's at 2C for months.

If you plan to charge anytime over 1C, For fire safety you must use a Balancer that has a way to terminate charge if a unseen problem is to show up inside the battery. This rule of thumb is goes for any lipo not just Outrage
For optimal safety I recommend you use a charger that works in conjunction with a balancer
Example is Thunder Power 1010C with a 210 Balancer

Hey Dragon,
check these out

if you like the kongs , look at the air thunders they are the ORIGINAL NO PUFF packs, I don't thinK Kong claims NO PUFF anymore because they buy from different battery suppliers now.
there is a 2pack special for the air thunders 2 for $109.99, these pack can handle draining to 2.0 volts per cell without puffing or 6v per 3 cell pack , Truely NO puff and air thunder stands behind it. 100%
now the OUTRAGE, just ROC, most powerful we @ rchover have flown to date just AWSOME, but they are not this lowvoltage pack veriety like the airthunder no puff packs , if you want power go outrage if you want a durability go air thunder for sure

Don't forget the TP 610C is a really nice charger too and has a built-in balancer. Good for up to 6s lithium-type packs as can do A123, Pb, NiCd, and NiMh.
I upgraded to it from my Cellpro 4s before even thinking I'd ever get up to 6s but then I won the G5 at B-Ham so I was glad I allready had a good charger for it.

I have a TP610 and I'm not really happy with it. The Cellpro 10s will be my next choice replacing the current TP610.
The 610 runs super hot causing the LCD become "invisible" and moreover, I much prefer the way the cellpro's do charging & balancing job.

I'm just spitballing here but maybe you got a bad unit? That or you use yours a lot more than I do mine, which is more likely.
I haven't noticed this problem but I will agree, I do prefer the charge/balance method the Cellpro uses. You can set the C-level you want and it auto adjusts as needed instead of specifying a charge current and the whole charge/balance job is done through the tap and not two separate connections. It also shows the current capacity in percentage which is pretty handy. I speak only about my experience with the Cellpro 4s though.
