I was just finishing up my new Aurora and setting up the pitch this past Friday when I noticed the inner ball on the new swashplate was moving up and down inside the swash about 1mm. (the slop was much more vertically, but very little laterally) The inner ball was not loose when I put it on, and yes I did sand (lightly with 1500 grit) the mainshaft and everything including the swash, washout unit, head, etc all went on perfectly with no binding. I suppose I had 30 minutes of servo time on the bench setting up the head when I noticed the ball was flopping around inside the swash. My real question, what is the process for getting it replaced? I did send both a PM and Email on the Avant forum, but the PM has not been read and no reply on the email, and I have no idea if that is the correct procedure for customer service. Any guidence welcome, I was hoping for the maiden flight this past weekend but that did not happen, now I'm hoping for next weekend, but that can only happen if I get a working swash.

I had an out of round gear and Avant replaced it quickly, Very good service! Just send them an email, they will RE: the instructions for replacement, (You will have to send your swash back to them, but they included a prepaid shipping label with the replacement part!)

I heard they don't send a new part without receiving the bad part now.

It is no problem flying with a little vertical play on your swash

Maybe he should shoot a quick video of it??? These things happen. Send the swash back in and get a new one would be my vote.
