Can anyone enlighten me on the conversion of a Raptor 50 into an electric motored machine?

I know it can be expensive but they have a kit so you can rip out your IC engine and though in your choice of motor. I am pretty sure there are one or two owners floating around here.

I saw a conversion kit on line, but it only had a motor mount piece and a new main gear. Seems like very little to change on the bird before adding battery and ESC. Of course the fuel tanks etc. would also have to go.

If it were -me- I would get an ION or wait for the rumored e-Raptor to appear.

Get the BIG check out of the book for batteries, ESC and motor.

Sounds like a good idea...

www.TPPacks.com has a great conversion that I flew for 4 months. There is video of it in our video library. Really cool setup and powerful as hell. 6 minutes runtime. I fly an Ion now, but like the very low relative cost of 10s2p packs.

batteries like a 10s4p will be the cost of a 10s2p soon
