The speed up gears worked great for me for several years. The only problem I ever encountered was making sure to be very attentive when installing the small gear on the out put shaft. Tightening the set screws too tight would cause the gear to crack. I never stripped any teeth off the gears. I cracked two small gears installing them during the period I was using the speed up gears. I have not used them since Heading Hold technology was introduced back in 1997.
