I have just recently purchased a Fury Extreme and this is my first nitro heli. I have everything ready for its first flight accept for the GV1 which is on its way to me as we speak. So my questions are. I need to know what to do if I have to pressure outlets. One of them is on the pipe and the other is on the crankcase cover of the engine. Do I plug one of them or do I tie them both into the tank. My next question is what is the standard operating temp of the engine. And finally my last question is how do I set up the throttle and pitch curves in my Dx7. I have a 600e T-Rex and my throttle curves for idle 1&2 are 100% across the board. Im not sure if thats true for nitro cuz I dont want to blow the engine. Please help! Wow Ive had 17 views on this thread and not one person can help w/ my problem. I think I should look somewhere else for help!

Answer the engine issue, and the other answers will follow.

You can use either pressure outlet - you presumable have a YS 50 - most people would opt for the crankcase outlet as the gases are marginally less corrosive than the exhaust.
Don't worry about governors till you have your engine run in and are happy with - it adds an unnecessary level of complexity to the setup. Your pitch curves from the 600E are probably gonna suit and set up V curves as per Wayne's advice (E motors also run better with V throttle curves unless you have a governor).
Try and get someone with nitro experience to help you with engine start and setup - different ball park from electric :)

Im sorry! The engine is a Ys 91 st. I've been away on buisness so I couldnt get right back to you guys. I know only a couple of guys who fly nitro in my area and there hard to get in touch w/. So im basicaly on my own w/ the set up. I figured this was the best place to go for help. So the throttle curve should be something like this. Point-L:100%, Point-1:INH, Point-3: 50%, Point-4-:INH, Point-H:100%. Is this right.

You need to cap the one on the muffler, it should not be used.
You should have gotten a check valve and short piece of fuel tubing with the engine, use this at the engine backplate to pressurize the tank.
Throttle setup will be different than you've been taught to date, YS uses a blade type carb throttle valve, where others use a barrel. You will see three hash marks on the casting beside the moving part of the carb, that is your hover reference. It equals approximately 40% throttle.
Set for there for initial hovers, adjust up/down to get the hover headspeed you want.
V curve is a gotta have, start with idle 1 curve slightly higher than normal mode at mid stick, idle 2 at +100, 50, +100.
Break in the engine prior to activating the governor.
Once broken in, 1700 Normal, 1800 Idle 1, and 1950 idle 2 are good starting points.

Well im set for my first flight but have a question. I bought the heli used and the guy told me that the check valve was w/ the engine but I cant seem to find it and my local hobby shop doesnt have one. Is it a bad idea to run the engine without it?

it won't run right without it.
try Ron's or heliproz, they have them.

Well I got her up and flyin but 2min into the flight the exhaust header loosened and now there is metal all inside the engine. There doesnt seem to be any damage to the cylinder walls but I havent got it all apart yet. I was told not to use locktite and to just tighten the bolts, but I put some blue locktite on just to ease my mind. Now is there anything that is strong enough to keep the bolts from backing out other than the red. I have heard of green but havent seen it anywhere.
