Ok I am about to install all of my goodies. The G770 can operate at 6v. The 3500g is rated for 4.8v. My BEC on my align ESC is a 6V bec. So my HS-65 will operate at 6v.
I obviously need to install the step down to 5.1v for my tail. Do I just put this inbetween where the servo plugs into the gyro? Or do I need to step down everything to 5.1v from my ESC?

I personally would put it on the output from the rx to the gyro.
I have been told by numerous LHS guys that feeding 6V into any gyro isn't good, even if it is rated for it.

Ok, so put the step down on the rx to the gyro. Now there are two inputs from the gyro to the rx right? One has the normal 3 wire lead and the other has 1 lead. I assume you put it on the one with the power lead (3 wire)?

yes, the other is only your gain wire and has no power going to it

Thanks :)
And the 5.1 stepdown is the correct one?

I believe the 3500g will run on 6V. However, it's so fast, just put the stepdown between the receiver and the gyro and have at it.
The 770 is a much better gyro than the 401. The holding power is unbelievable. I'd like to get that combo for my B400.

On the 770, follow the setup directions to a T, even if it doesn't make any sense. Trust me, it WILL work.

Hey Mike,
It says to turn the travel on the rudder to 150% on the radio, but the dx6i only goes to 125. Will this still work? It seems travel adjust is controlled by the gyro

This thing is worth its weight in gold :D:D:D
VERY powerful gyro, I am still getting a TAD of wag in certain moves at 60% gain. I think I will go down to 50% and up from there.
This gyro is VERY different from the 401, g110, etc. I point, it stays, simple as that.
Simple yet advanced, I like that.
Mike,
I have seen people use velcro straps on their gyros, is this OK?

Don't go to 50% gain on the gain channel. 49-51% are verbotten. (Gyro off) Lower the gain 2-3% and you should be fine. You could move the ball link in on the servo arm. too.

Oh yea...DUH!
I have the throws set up perfectly. I really like how you configure this gyro. So I will just turn down the gain just a tad, maybe 58%.

Oh great, I thought I was the only one who rounded off the servo horns. My flying buddies thought I was mental.
Nice one.
