I have an original 1001(did have a wooden servo tray). The only upgrades that have been made are the sideframes and the radio tray. They are G-10 side frames and I think they were produced by Bergen but I am not 100% sure on that.
I think my course of action is just going to be to fly it as is and upgrade parts as the old ones wear out or I use the dirt brakes.
With that said, is there anything I should go ahead and upgrade. IE: things that would make a huge difference.
Also when I do use the dirt brakes, what parts should I look to upgrade. Things I have been looking at ar the uni-ball clutch system, longer tailboom, rear servo mount and torque tube.
Last question, I promise. Does anyone have any clue as to how much longer MA is going to support it's older helicopters. To be honest I can't believe they still make parts for the 1001's I am glad they do, and hats off to the for it.
Ok, I lied, one more question, is it feasible to upgrade the 1001 to a fury or stratus. I am not really looking to do it all at one time, just a little here and there as I wreck/replace parts.
Thanks in advance.
