I left the switch on in my heli and my killed the charge on my Duralite battery. Will it come back to life ? Can I trust it or do I need a new one ?
Thanks Charlie R

You can put the battery on the Duralite charger and see if it will charge it back up.
The light will go out when the battery is completly charged. I have seen or heard of a couple of Duralite batteries that were allowed to go below 5.5 volts that were OK when they were charged again.

Good luck and let us know if the battery recovers and is OK.

My duralites took a full charge , but I am afraid of them . How could I test them with out putting them in the heli and flying ?

You can cycle them on the ground. I did hte exact same thing once and my pack is still fine and flying today.

What I did to cycle it nad vrify it was working was to turn on the heli and my TX while I worked in my office and wiggle the stocks periodically for an hour check the voltage. Turn it off let it rest a little while, turn them on another hour then check the voltage and recharge. After 2 times doing this I could see my voltage readings were normal and I have flown it for almost a year since.

You can also check it with the volt meter. Use 1.5 amps and check the voltage. Leave the load on it about 15 seconds. If the battery is not dropping rapidly, then it should be OK. The voltage will be dropping, it will depend on how fast it drops. If it is going down fairly quick, then I would be suspicious of the battery. If it is just dropping slowly and steady , the battery should be OK.
If you have the Futaba battery checker, this one will discharge the battery by leaving it on. Just be aware and not let the battery discharge below 6.5 volts with a load.

toss it on the Triton set to discharge a 7.4V lithium at 1-2 Amp.
chances are it will time out before it discharges to 3.8V/cell, which would indicate it's okay. charge with d-lite charger and repeat until you are confident of it.
