Hi there,

I've got a Thunder Power TP-610c charger with a Thunder Power 2200 3 cells. I get Overcharge cell in pack message. I tried discharging 3/4 to no avail...

What can I do?

It means you've got a weak cell. The cell with the highest voltage during charging is actually the weakest one. One thing you can try is to back off the charge rate. By charging slower, that cell's voltage won't go as high and the balancer has a chance to even things out again. I had that problem on one of my older 2200 3s packs with the same TP-610 charger. I kept lowering the charge rate from 2.2 A down till it no longer had the over-voltage error. At about 1.2A, it finally charged ok, just took a long time. But keep in mind that pack still has a weak cell and will never be as "punchy" as a good pack. Just keep a close eye on it in case anything goes wrong.

Thanks BikeNBoatN,

so even after charging it once slowy, coming back to a normal charge rate it would do the over charge again? So there's nothing I can do really? Bad pack?

 Unfortunately, that's been my experience. The weak cell gets weaker until eventually the pack ends up being unusable. I've got quite a few 3-cell packs that have one cell bad. I haven't gotten brave enough to try opening them up to remove the bad cells and replace them with good cells pulled out of other bad packs. Too much of a potential fire hazard for me. One little short circuit, and POOF! :bomb:

Besides, packs with mix-and-match cells by nature are not going to stay balanced very well. Too much of a risk putting them into my models. I can't justify crashing just because I was too cheap to use a good, reliable lipo.
