I have an HDX 450 heli with a GY401 and Hitec HS65MG on the tail. While the gyro goes through initialization and on each beep of the speed control the tail servo chatters back and forth. I've also been having trouble with the nose drifting to the right in a hover. I've gone through the Finless videos inside and out, adjusted the gain, the tail pitch slider, delay and can't seem to get rid of the drifting. I also have a T-Rex 450 with the same gyro and servo setup and all works great (in hover and solid stopping after piro's)

I was wondering if these are seperate problems or related to the gyro? I've replaced the servo and still have the same problems. How do you tell if the gyro is on it's way out or do they just go bad? :arggg:

OK, if anyone reads this and wants to know. I moved the gyro to the top of the boom and all is rock solid. Delay set around 60, gain channel at 50% - No Drifting. The 401 on my T-rex is mounted under the boom with no problems. I guess the 401 on the HDX doesn't like being upside down.

Anyone hear of such a thing?

Maybe the tape you had holding the gyro had gotten loose. When you reinstalled it right side up you maybe corrected the loose tape or whatever without realizing it.
