I don't know about you guys but, there seem to be a "magic hour" right before sunset and right after dawn. Not only is it the perfect time for killing dragons but it seems like the wind stops for about 30 minutes at this time.

I got in a few packs this morning, what a joy.

I am glad to hear that.

There is a metrological explanation to that, but I am not sure I want to bore you with such. :happyd

Not to spoil the good mood, but I have just had the opposite experience with numbers. :YeaBaby:

So far, I have had two crashes with my T-rex 500. The first crash happened on my 7th pack of the day, the other (yesterday) on the 8 pack of the day.

Normally I only fly 3-5 9 minute packs pr day with my T-rex 500 and it seems as if I get sloppy and not concentrating enough when I fly "many" packs in a row.

Will either fly less or pay more attention in the future. :smokin:

Sucks about your crashes man.

One of the things I love about the Gaui 200 is I can fly it in my front yard with no problems. It allows me to grab a couple packs and fly when ever I want. I agree with the multiple pack problem. I've flown 16 packs straight. It's great fun but by the time I'm done, I'm spent.

Buzz,

I second that observation! I do 90% of my flying between 8:00 and 8:45 PM, after the wind dies down.

Before I got into this hobby, I never paid much attention, but it's got something to do with the sun's heating of the earth, and warm and cool currents. When the sun goes away, the wind tends to calm. Never really noticed before!

LOL, I also now know where each and every flag is within a 5 mile radius of my home and flying area! I now look at trees alot as well, they are a tell tale indicator too!

I don't even pay attention to how windy it is during the day at work, because it almost always calms in the evenings. A big additional plus is that it is cooler too!

True about the wind but conversely what is it with the bugs right before dark? Or is it just me?

in a real helicopter, after about 4 hours of flight, it really gets to you. mental strain sets in. best thing to do is rest for a while, then repeat.:)

Jet, I don't think it's you...LOL!

With me, it depends on where I'm flying as to how bad the bugs are. If I fly in the baseball field, there are tons of bugs. But if I fly in the industrial park parking lot, there are like zero bugs. Maybe the paint fumes from the local factory repel them or something!

Anyways, I like flying in the evenings...that is, until it gets a bit too dark...and that's another story!

i've heard as long as you are not standing on grass, the bugs won't bother you. try avon's skin so soft to repel bugs. it works pretty good.

You got it dude, that's the time I dream of. No people, no traffic, no problems. Those that show up, like the cops, typically are impressed enough to leave you alone.

Can you slay dragons with a 200??

Yes, but only 200 class dragons.

Please see my famous vid on "Arming your 200 with the .4mm Vulcan Minigun"
Get in on this now, they say depleted uranium is going to be a problem soon....
