OK.....I'm not sure where I should be posting this, but since this forum has more activity then it's had in months I'll post it here.

I now have three hours of running time on the new engine and gearbox and I decided I'd air it out a little tonight. It was sweeeeet:D There is no vibration, not even a flutter. The engine is puring like a kitten and even the pilot is a bit more in the groove. I did some loops, a couple of flip/loops (don't know what they are called) and some rolls. Oh yeah and a couple of the dreaded stall turns that looked like :BSS Even my normally horrid rolls were a little better. At least I stayed flying ahead instead of coming out in a hover.

I guess all the hard work Chris put into showing me how to build it right and balancing things paid off. With a head speed of 1,650 (I think, needs to be tached again) it is running great. As Chris mentioned in another post, there is little increase in the jet rpm as I go into heavy collective moves and no over speeding, so I guess my curves are set correctly :happyd

Hope to get some video to post this weekend.

Lou

You posted in the right place young Jedi, we have joined the others here.........away from the darker side. Sounds like the Master is teaching you well in the construction of your new weapon........ soon you will be nearly as wise as he.

Beware the darker side.................

Sounds really sweet Lou, I won't have mine going until next spring. But that will give me time to practice. I won't be doing much more than hovering with my Wren until I feel confident enough.

Have any pictures?

Do you have the new gear-box with the brass fuel/air tube? .... how did you connect that to the 4mm plastic tube from the turbine?

Awsome Lou,

you have some bottle to loop and roll a turbine!!

Really glad you got it up and flying, I have never met Chris, but reading all his posts he seems to know his stuff and is a really nice guy, offers good service,

it seems everyone connected or selling the Wren all offer great service.

Really nice to see an enthusiastic post

Matt:banana

ps - i love these avtars on this site. i wish they would do one where you can flip the bird...:Bang

4mm plastic tube is pushed 10mm onto the plain brass tube. Do this by putting the pipe end in scalding hot water and pushing it on.........or.........what I do is put the end in my mouth and chew it a bit....like Eskimos do with there shoes. This softens it and, away you go!

Thanks Bell, thought it would be as simple as that.
