They run plain 'ol Jet-A jet engine fuel, running about $3.60 a gallon here at most airports in California. This stuff is basically kerosene with some additives. At most small airports you can just show up with an approved container.

Most small turbines also want you to premix a small amount of oil into the fuel too.

Turbines are thirsty bastards and can consume a half gallon in about 15 minutes.

THe engine manufacturer will set the teardown limit. Jet Cats are 25 hours for example.

I am running the Wren system using kerosene with 3% turbine oil mixed in. On the Bergen with the Wren 2 stage system I am getting an average of 22 minutes off a 50 OZs fuel.

Good Evening

I use kerosene from one of several hardware stores here. I use 5 % turbine oil Bp 2380 from the local airport. I got carried away this year and ran up 40.95 hours on my second JetCopter. Will press on but will spend more time on my other 3 turbines this year.

cheers

K1 Kero - the stuff Home Depot sells for heaters. K1 Kero is 'cleaner' than JetA, less sulfur content, and on our small combustion chambers I get concerned about buildup. Probably not at all important, but the K1 is easy to get and that is important.
