i have a gaui i am setting up using parts from a 600 rex i keep i have a
JR790 rx
hitec servos HS-6965 hb
tail servo is futba S9254 with gyro 401
and esc is turnigy 60 amp
my question do i need anything else like a bec ,i was told no buy the guy i bought it from,
and do i need a volt step down for the tail servo, any help would be great thanks ,i am trying to test the servos now but can fiqure out how to get this JR to bind

I have a JR xp7202 raido

You need either a 3-6A BEC for RX that take the power from your main pack or one with an extra RX battery pack. Some people prefer the the HV BEC, some prefer one with an extra 2S Lipo pack. I prefer the latter one.

Yes, you do need a 5.1v voltage step down for the 9254 servo.

Other than that your set up looks great. The HS-6965 servos are very good.

ok because now i am confused i aske him a few times he said no i dont need one ,but i put 2 batteries on the the heli and pluged the 60 am spped controler into the receiver marked thro and i have no power to the receiver , so he was wrong i need to buy a bec and battery you are saying correct?

It depends if your ESC controller has built in BEC or not. You need to read the instruction to find out, but most ESC 60A or above normally don't have it because they are likely running battery packs with voltage > 11.1 V.

either a BEC (really a voltage regulator) and rx battery (my preferred method) or a true BEC and wire it inline with the ESC to get power from the main packs.

i have the turnigy plush 60 amp i think it has a built in ,but i plug both batteries in i get the beeps from the esc but no power to my receiver,i know the receiver works i took it out of a trex 600 working fine ,i get no amber light on the receiver ,i am at a loss here i am trying to test me servos
