H550 True or False Question

I found this statement on the Hobby city under the lipo batteries section, “The Zippy 3300mah 5S lipo is a good battery. I am using it on my Hurricane 550 and power is very good. 8 min hover and normal flight for about 12 min. no 3D”. My H550 works on a 22.2 volt system according to my manual. So, can this be done?

true and false......some run 5s packs but I don't think for 8-12 minutes and stay within the 80% rule with the stock motor....

with the z20 probably.....but not much get up and go

depending on the motor and gearing, yes it's possible.. but you'd have to be around 1600 in head speed.. hover and very light FF

With stock motor such as the 1100kv gently (emphasis on the gentle) the answer is false. How do I know, I tried it using the Outrage 5s 3300 mAh. 6 minutes max.

With stock motor 980kv, 500 woodies, revco 20 tooth pinion, revco 61 tooth front, 19 tooth one way, std 61 tooth main on 2p 3c 3300 broad cell (same as zippy) eagle tree recorded 9 min of fast foward flight, some loops and flips with good collective management avg 1890rpm head speed used 2343 mAH, with room to spare, so maybe 10 min or some more aggressive flight, Will try again tommorow if the wind drops :thumbup: Eagle log attached
