Hi.
Yet another new Gaui 200 owner :)
What a beautiful little thing!
I´m very confused about which motor wire goes where in the ESC, they are all black! Is there an easy way to find out how to connect the motor to the ESC?
Also, there seems to be some screws in the Gaui 200 kit which are for mounting servos...do these screws bolt directly into the frame or do i need a "backplate/nut"?
Thank you for any advice!

You're not the first to ask about the screw holding the servos in... but YES you are right, they screw directly into the CF!! Best thing to do with the ESC is to plug them all in and give it a go.... if the motor spins the wrong way, then just pick any 2 of the wires between the ESC and Motor and swap them over!!
I think a lot of people think that brushless motors are like regular DC motors and if you conect them up wrong, you will damage them or make them work the wrong way. Basically you have 3 coils of wire and a fixed magnet connected to the output shaft of the motor. if you put an electric current through a coil you also get a magnetic field. So if you carefully control the current to each loop in a set pattern of pulses, you can get the fixed magnet to be attracted and repelled from each loop and make the motor spin. Easy... if the coils are arranged in a Ring with the magnet in the middle its an "Inrunner" if the coils are on the inside and the fixed Magnets rotate arround them, its an "Outrunner". basically bey swapping a single pair of wires you swap the pattern of pulses and make it all work in the other direction.
This question has been asked several times before it maybe worth putting together a flash animation of how one works, proabably easier than me trying to explain it!!

I just used trial and error, If its backwards switch any 2. I THINK (dont hold me to it) that if you put it where they suggest, plugging them in what seems like the proper sequential order works, but like i said, spool it up and if the paddles/blades go in the wrong direction, reverse 2. as far as the screws, i just used the ones with the servos, and no nuts. Be sure to ca/locktite the nut holding on the tail.
hope this helps and enjoy.

I was going to ask about this, basically the new escs are just a d.c to a.c converter, and send regulated a.c. current 3 phase to the brushless motor, hence the three wires, correct.
The old brushed motors took d.c. and just sent d.c regulated current to the motor, hence two wires + -.
Thanks Les

Les... it needs no explaination if you know how a three phase motor works. But yep thats about it.I'm still not exactly sure how Guvna mode works still but thats another story ;-)
