Hi Freaks I don't normally post on the Thunder Tiger section I'm an Align man myself but I was just wondering if any of you guys have run into this problem ? I will explain

I have been setting up a Mini Titan my brother has been given (yes given  jammy ba$tard) it is used but not abused. Anyway to cut a long story short I spooled the heli up with it tethered down to check the tracking but after about 30 seconds the tail rotor stopped rotating but the main rotor still howling away  Mmmm very odd and no stripped teeth.

Upon closer inspection it appears the small gear on the tail drive is spinning on the shaft it looks like it should have a pin or screw in there ? the gear itself has also dropped a few mm so it is resting on the main drive gear. I don't really want to strip it down now I have it all setup.

Can any of you TT Titan experts out there shed any light on this and if so do you have a quick fix ? or is it buy a new drive shaft ??:arggg:

I suppose the only saving grace is that this didn't happen mid flight :YeaBaby:

Many thanks in advance

Cheers
Glenn

That one was new to me. I would guess either it is a faulty unit or something in the tail has binded up pretty good (bearing?). Anyway, good opportunity to get the all metal tail shaft :-)

Mine broke do to a rececent crash. Buy a new one (pv0815) it has a brass gear and is only a few dollars more and stock. $14.29 at heli proz.

Thanks for the replies guys.

It looks like the pin that fixed the plastic gear to the bottom of the shaft has come out it certainly looks like a weak point and I cant believe its not a common fault, there is nothing there though it has worked loose and not sheared like I suspected. No seized bearings either

The pin size is tiny about 0.5mm in diameter I may be able to do a temporary fix with a needle and bond it in but I think going for the metal upgrade PV0815 is a good idea though. Thanks

Cheers
