Ladies and Gentlemen, in this corner weighing in at way over 8 kilo’s from the U.S.A. a newbie to the heli world. In his unlearned vast training ( maybe 12 minutes on a T-Rex 500 and who’s counting on the sim), he is able to take pictures of speeding bullets, crying babies, giggling 6 year olds, and when lucky enough bikini models. What he can’t do LR, CS3, LZ and DxO can, provided he pushes the right button’s.
Ok so much for the theatrics’. I walked into my LHS, gathering parts for my nephews LOSI and my Truggie when, I glanced into the corner of the indoor race track and spied some E-Heli’s tottering about. Hook line and sinker. I walked out with the part’s, I went for and a T-Rex 500 GF. Along with some extra parts to keep it going threw the first few oop’S and a Sim (G4). No sooner than I had it together I thought humm this might be a nice critter to attach a Cam to, maybe I ought to see if anyone has tried that. LMAO yeah I’d say someone or three has done that (Well Duh!) Ok I’ll lerk about and read here and there maybe come up with some good Idea’s. Whooo Weee did I ever find some Idea’s!! ( Thanks to all of You that have posted info about the Photographic end of Heli’s) I thought I’d add a smidgen of what I have come across in my quest.
Even if I became the best RC Heli Pilot stumbling on his feet, I would never strap my Mark III one and dangle it over so much as a 40 thick cushion. I don’t or didn’t have any small digitals to fill the bill of entering into the AP arena. I did how ever have the programs to make them better if they weren’t of the quality I’m accustom to. Here is what will be on my AP Machine (when I get to that point) one has to hover in all 360 degree’s before one can fly and the rest is ongoing. Darn never knew I was so long winded at saying nothing.
Canon G9- Approx. 11.29 oz. with RAW capabilities. To me RAW is a must. I do a Lot of HDR work and if I can only get one shot raw allows me to take it 2 stop’s each way then Blend (cheating for HDR) but it works. To help with Noise I use both DxO lab’s and Imagenomic noise ware. DxO only works with DSLR’s at the moment so Imagenomic’s Noise ware is the one I would suggest. When I want larger files than my Camera’s will do, Alien Skin’s BlowUp will take it to way more than I need and to sharpen into many areas Nik Sharpener Pro 2 works like a champ. I haven’t used the G9 much but, what I have, has proven worth the investment. Could I get away with using it on a client I would but, alas they expect fancy gadgets for their money so yaz gots to wave blingage in front of them. I also use a program called Light Zone to relight when they do not turn out so well, in area’s that I can not use flash ( I hate flash but ahh sometimes) and don’t have time to scroll to the needed setting for a correct exposure. Hay I’ve been shooting on the fly and didn’t know it. I am learning ;-)
Now all I have to do is learn faster then pick which Bird I want to use as my AP Flag Ship! Will it ever end? NOT !! :DOH
Humm Maybe a T-Rex 600 stretched with a few upgrades, twin Lip’s, V-Barless, H.U.D (for blingage),
A big blue brushless or a A S 50, and AP 2000, though I do like the belt drive on the Maxi2.
Richard aka Cyborg- I’m just the human behind all the machines that allow me to make bankable. :fly
