do i need that 7th channel?

Just a quick n00b question, what's that 7th channel for? I'm looking to upgrade my stock Belt stuff to 2.4GHz and there seems to be a bit of a price difference for a 6-channel vs 7-channel.

(Actually, my belt is far from stock now... got a new ESC, BEC, and full copterX kit, etc)

It's for whatever you want - lights, retracts, governor, fuel mixture on nitros... Nice to have, but not absolutely necessary as long as you're prepared to shell out for a new transmitter when you do need it. Remember you do get more than the extra channel with the more expensive versions, but you'll be fine on six channels for basic flying.
