I have just put in a washer/spacer in the tail to reduce the slop in the tail. and having done that it just brings out the best in my 401 gyro & 9257 tail servo . The tail is rock solid.
here's is the pic. after put on the spacer, I did find the sliding movement is not as smooth, so i use a pencil to transfer some pencil lead to the tail shaft. this would be the equivalent of graphite powder acting as a lubricant in the tail shaft.

thinner spacers top and bottom and you would get no binding, thats what I did, plus add some shims to the knukcle side as well, no more play and a rock solid tail!

Yeah... the top & bottom spacers would work better. Mind if i ask, where do you get the thinner spacers?

Spacer that came with a MT screw set that I bought seperately. There are at least 8 spacer/washer in the bag, just try the very thin ones that one would normally use on the head to space bearings etc.

hi vinger,
just tried the thinners one, but still find there's considerable slop coming from the tail pitch slider (from the Y fork section to the tail blade grip).
then i bought the Sonix tail pitch slider (alu), and found it reduced a lot of the slop coz sonix got less moving parts. the rest of my tail is stil MT metal.
haven't test fly it yet. bad weather today. but i think it should be better.

I found after puttint the metal double link in it the only slop was in the Y forks, nothing to worry about though
