After going about 9 months of Hurri flying without crashing it I have now crashed her twice in 3 weeks :mad::mad:. The really annoying bit was that I wasn't even doing anything exciting, just a bit of nose in and made a simple mistake, goodbye boom, boom supports, blades, flybar, mainshaft and tail fin :mad:.

I have spares of all of these, and they are all very well priced except the tail fins - does anyone use any other fins ?

Cheers,
Mike.

P.S. I've had a sh*t few days, had a lesson yesterday (flew rubbish); took my car to the dealer this morning for them to make a small change - one of the technicians backed into it, needs a new bumper; crashed my hurri this evening

I haven't replaced my fin set yet, but others are using the TREX600 fins

Two crashes for me in less than two weeks; first the Gaui 550 and today my Heliartist 500D went down. It's pretty banged up, it will fly again but I'll have to order replacement parts and I'm in no rush for that. Not sure what happened, I think the belt slipped or something as I just all of the sudden lost tail authority and I tried to bring her in a lightly as I could but she just dropped like a ROCK! Man, I'm loosing my confidence here; both wrecks were like yours, SIMPLE maneuvers hell I wasn't even DOING anything with the 500 yet, aahahahh!!!

The good news is that I'm reasembling the 550 as my parts arrived from RH today, should be up and running tomorrow. And I'll take this opportunity on the 450 to strip her back down and tune her up properly, get the BEC working more seamlessly, etc. I'll have to work up to the Heliartist fuse again and I'll worry about it later, man, what a bummer.

Try the T-Rex 600 fins, I actually bought an extra set of the Gaui's just in case and 'may' need them for my current re-build...

Good luck and Happy Flying!

The 600 vert stabilizer is taller. Without the Trex600 landing get you'd need to cut or file the fin OR change the bolt hole locations. Mines almost a tripod with both.
You need to oval the 600 stabilizer holes to line up with the gaui tail case mounting holes.

Thanks for the reminder with dealers. I need something fixed that could be fixed under warranty but I refuse to have those idiots screw something else up on my car at the same time. I'll fix it myself. :)

I have the CF fin set as well and I haven't broke one yet after 3 very bad crashes.. Even after doing a nose dive into the long Island Sound..!

I use the trex 600 fins....it is taller and keeps the blades from hitting when using the trex hub.

I also like the bigger horz fin and u clamp.....

looks and works much better....
