The great Hyper 50 muffler discussion thread

Hey guys I know this has been beaten to death, but for the sake of a updated discussion. I was wondering which pipe is said or suppose to produce the most power for the OS hyper 50 ,, I have a trex 600nitro I have been running Cool Power 20% nitro with a MP2 youngblood pipe, I didn't know if any of the new muffs are suppose to make alittle more power,, I have seen the new MP5 youngblood, the align, the new SAB50 hatori watts edition, the funtech 50, I didn't know if I would gain a slight power advantage,,, or if all these new muffs were a sales pitch,, thanks for any comments,,

I've run the Align and Hatori SAB-50 BW and can't really tell all that much difference in power. The Hatori is quieter.

I have heard alot about the SB50 Youngblood,, I wonder if it makes more power than the align,, they are the same price

From what I've seen on the Web, the SB-50 CY is about $50 more than the Align and about $10 more than the SAB-50 BW. There's one other issue with the CY: since it's a two-piece pipe, there's not much support at the header, so the pipe requires mounting to the frame, which usually requires drilling at least one hole in the frame and rigging up a bracket. The SAB-50 Bobby Watts is one-piece with a rigid header, so it mounts just like the Align. It was the mounting difficulties that pushed me toward the SAB-50 BW.

So the Align vs. hatori bobby watts vs. funtech. which one makes the most power, I don't care about noise, or cost,, I defintly want a one piece,, so I guess that rules out the youngblood,, cost doesn't matter but if the align makes the same power as the hatori and the funtech, I just assume save 40 dollars,

The Align pipe supposedly offers the most power. Just make sure you get one of the newer Align pipes with the pressure nipple on the pipe and not on the header. The older Align pipes had a defect causing the baffle to break loose. It happened to me. I didn't want a repeat and I didn't know how to distinguish the two revisions at the time, so I bought the Hatori. I've been quite happy with it.

The MP5sb if have on my TT53 is one piece.

I like it so far.

I have an Align pipe that is cracked where the pipe meets the header that I'm going to weld back up.
