Just finished the last post and walked outside for a turn around the garden with one of my EXIs.
I guess it had to happen eventually, but I "dumb thumbed" in a nose-in banked turn and stuffed it into the fence. Ahh jeezzz.
Fortunately, like all serious Belt enthusiasts, I have a large stock of parts, as I always follow Wolfie's advice and never order just one of anything. ;)

Aww, I hate it when that happens. I'm always dreading the freak gust of wind when I'm nose in - I just know my thumbs will still get it wrong occasionally if they have to react too quickly. Hope you get it back in the air soon.

Its ok. I crashed into the floor not long ago.. Put on a brand new set of align woodies. The heli attcked me and now they are scuffed... Still flyable tho :D
Better luck next time mate

Well that's one good thing about Belt attacks, they don't screw up the blades! :)

Yeah, I still have a problem with left and right roll when I'm nose in. I can do it right most of the time as long as I have a moment to think about it. Of 'course that's the problem, when you really need to make the correction you don't have time to think about it. :)

Its strange... I cant imaging not being able to hover my helicotper...
I don't get it.. Hovering tail in is soo easy.. I cant understand how begginers cant do it... I know that I couldn't do it myself before but now that I can, I can't see what was so dificult about it lol... Anyone else feel like that.
Ps. To you beginers.. Once you can hover tail in you will feel the same.. And once you can hover for over 2 mins take off your training kit... you will get used to it after about 3 flights.
I can do nose in on the sim but I havn't tried it in real life yet..

Sorry to hear about your mishap mnwizard atleast you are doing nose in, I am stuck at that mental barrier to try other things besides tail in hover :arggg:
but one day.........

I agree with you jonnyheli, hovering tail-in is very easy when you get the hang of it - and you do rather quickly!
I am now practising nose-in and I picked up a tip from someware in these forums I belive. The tip was to start as you did when you first learned to hover tail-in - that is: stand in front of your heli (nose-in) that is on the ground and slowly lift her up and learn to hover. That way you do not have to adjust your way of thinking from tail-in to nose-in mid air.
This is working out quite good for me, low altitude = low impact. And of course I have my training wheels on. This exersise combined with the natural 45 and 90 degree hover is what I belive a very good way of learning.

I tried everything I could think of to learn nose-in and what I ultimately did was fly slow, flat figure eights and would slow down and eventually stop the heli while it was on the 2 straight legs of the X when I would be looking at it pretty close to nose in.
Once I got comfortable with that, then a would give a little rudder to bring it completely nose-in.
The problem I'm dealing with now is when you're in a banking turn and want to level and straighten out when it gets nose in. I have a real problem getting the correct cyclic input.

I can fly perfectly on the sim.. Just haven't had the weather to increase my confidence flying in real life. However, I have had times at the field where I am very good flying figue 8's at I grate height.
As for nose in... I still haven't tried that in real life yet... I think I will try it with the training kit on. Or I might just decide to turn it nose in whilst im flying.
I can also do piro's. They're abit fast but im gettig slower now:D

That's exactly the method I use - and, I just realized, have started to cheat with. I'm still so uncomfortable with nose in I think I haven't really been staying there long enough... I just pause for a while and continue the figure eight, or maintain a slow forward drift to help with stability. That's probably why the helicopter still feels more restless nose in than tail in.
Have to put an end to that - just spent four full eight-minute batteries doing nose in only, and I think there's still enough light for at least one more. Getting a lot better already...
