Yep, my 700 met the ground rather hard. Stall turned too low and dumb thumbed it :arggg:

Visible Damage:
Tail boom + torque tube
Main Gear
Bottom Plate
Skids
Flybar + Paddles
Servo pushrods : !Not available from Align
pushrod from swash to mixing arms : !Not available from Align
Bent tail slider support arm : !Not available from Align (Complete Tail Only)
Main shaft bearings : !Not available from Align (Complete bearing blocks only)

I now it's early in production, but some of these parts are going to be common repair items. The tail slider support arm will need a whole new tail unit to replace! Should be a common part IMHO

Main Shaft & feathering shaft I will replace as a matter of course.

Items Ordered so Far:
1 x HN7010 Main Shaft (HN7010) = £11.64
1 x Gear Set for 9451 servo (Gear 9451) = £15.00
1 x HN7056 Torque Tube (HN7056) = £9.69
1 x HN7049 Skid Pipe (HN7049) = £3.87
1 x HN7028 Carbon Bottom Plate/2.5mm (HN7028) = £24.24
1 x HN7019 Main Drive Gear/164T (HN7019) = £10.66
1 x HN7009 Flybar Rod/570mm (HN7009) = £4.84
1 x HN7025 Feathering Shaft (HN7025) = £5.58

Which including postage is £92 ($183USD), thats without paddles and main bkades and main shaft bearings and replacement tail housing!!

i would fix that tail support clamp with a vice and go easy.

the bearing you can get from www.modelbearings.co.uk and probably better quality that the ones in there.

cheers

Canopy looked like it survived? That's good since that's the one piece that is currently fabricated from an exotic material (unobtainium). ;)

It survived, but it's cracked and pieces have flaked off. It'll fly again. Just won't be so pretty :) Just a little bit battle scarred :banana

Have you got a T600 tail housing - that support arm may be the same and you could ''borrow'' it - QuickUK ball links are the same size rod and ball as ALign and they may have something - otherwise straighten them out !! Bearings shoul dbe obtainable from any decent bearing supplier.

Man that sucks,

My mate slammed his vibe 50 in today.... An only about a month ago he slammed another vibe 50 which got totalled......

Just one of those things.... Hope you get back in the air soon as the 700 is a dream to fly sooooo much better than a synergy an a Blitz avro put together

rods i'm going to have to straighten until align release them! No one has similar lengths that could be cut down!

600N support is shorter, I've checked. Cant space it out cause it keys into the side plate, don't want the possibility of it twisting in flight, I obviously have enough problems flying without that happening :rolling

I've just run your parts list but with Vibe 90 spares, total cost is £162.59 but add the boom and you're up to £177.34 so at least it shows the 700 is a cheap(er) heli to crash, still sucks though.

I'd certainly try straightening the support arm, shouldn't be too difficult and I'd also endorse Modelfixings, they will stock probably every bearing you will ever need and probably at better quality. A short while ago you couldn't get main blade thrust races for 600's (or Vibe 50 which is the same size), Modelfixings list the same bearing as in stock on their site.

Had a spare boom with the kit! Which was a help, and the cost has a spare mainshaft, feathering spindle, main gear and tail gear, which means cheaper next time ;) Although I hope it will be a while yet! I had to get a tt front gear too, 1 tooth missing :(. So total cost so far including a set of Radix 690's is £188! Just need to add the cost of the bearings.

We have a local bearing supplier, I'll check them today but modelbearings list them so I know where to go if I can't get them locally!

A friend might be able to machine me a new arm, if not I'll try straightening it.

we should have a sticky re: bearing sizes for the main bearing blocks, blade grips and other vulnerable bearings to make it easy to reference
I know I like Protek bearings or the heli-direct bearings over Align bearings for my replacements.
Would beat having to look around the internet or the instruction manual to find the bearing specs :Bang

$1200 WTF???

Is that what this thing is going to cost to repair?

I don't get it. The kit is $800

How the heck? Can you please explain, cause I might re-think buying one of these beasts if the crash is going to cost more than the heli.

Where was $1200? I saw 188 pounds in Toaster's post which is less than $400. Bear in mind that UK prices tend to run higher as well.

My Total is about £200 including blades, so that's roughly $400 but that also includes servo gears.

If you put one in and take out an engine, rx's, gyro's etc, then yeah it's gonna be expensive!

Depends on how hard you fly it into the ground!!!!

That's a lot bigger ouch than mine :noteworthy

That looks like a nose in to the ground . As I said in my previous post, depends on what else you destroy!

Dang. Sorry for the poor luck. I lightly crashed my 600N Super Pro, so I know how it feels, but it's just part of the process.

oh haha dang, my bad, I read that wrong, I though you were saying 1200 dollars

I didn't see the little pound sign in front of the 200.

I had a similar problem with my tail support arm when my 700 went in, ended up having a mate just make me one up out or a block of aliminium, said it too him around 2 hours to hand file one down to size/shape. He also straightened the old one out and cleaned it up too. And I know how you feel, but mine went in from a 1m hover, due to the tail giving out. Determined later that I didn't have the bolts on the boom support screwed all the way in, they were tight, but must have been caught on some crud in the hole....total cost for me was about $300 aussie (blades and new pump being the biggest part)

OK completely rebuilt and in the air again!

Total cost £215 (~$430)
1 x HN7010 Main Shaft (HN7010) = £11.64
1 x Gear Set for 9451 servo (Gear 9451) = £15.00
1 x HN7056 Torque Tube (HN7056) = £9.69
1 x HN7049 Skid Pipe (HN7049) = £3.87
1 x HN7028 Carbon Bottom Plate/2.5mm (HN7028) = £24.24
1 x HN7019 Main Drive Gear/164T (HN7019) = £10.66
1 x HN7009 Flybar Rod/570mm (HN7009) = £4.84
1 x HN7025 Feathering Shaft (HN7025) = £5.58
2 x HN7043 Torque Tube Front Drive Gear Set (HN7043) = £15.50 (1 Spare)
1 x HN7013T Metal Flybar Seesaw Holder = £17.21
1 x 690mm Radix Main Blades (yb-690) = £72.99
1 x V-Paddles 95mm = £22.95

These were sourced from different places so postage has to be added!

Couldn't get the align paddles so the v-paddles will have to do ;) and could not get Rotortech 690 3D pro's for love nor money!

But all's good, flew a few confidence inspiring crazy fast circuits in strong wind just to shake everything down.
