Dear All
OK I am a complete novice but do have a Masters in Electronics and Guided Weapons. I am in Cambridge, UK. I have just bought a HDX 450 whilst on a trip to Hong Kong thus fulfilling a childhood dream of owning a 'proper' R/C helicopter.

So first questions - how do you tell if it is JR or Futaba?
I have connected the servos to the mainframe and the motor but none seem to work when connected to the receiver. The motor beeps at me continuously. What do I do now?
Once I have the servos working etc how do I go about checking that it all functions OK?
Is there a good website with videos etc to describe how to go about the whole thing for a newbee like me?
Many thanks. Looking forward to hearing some responses.
John

Yes the Finless videos are priceless for setup, especially for the HDX 450 since mine didnt come with a manual. The HDX450 page is here http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=11354
It actually sounds like you didnt have the throttle all the way down and that the ESC was in programming mode. If you got a manual with yours you want to find the ESC programming portion and make sure you didnt change somthing. ESCs can be a pain to program, even with the finless videos, since all of them are different.

Some of the parts for the HDX can be a little cheap but when you get it setup its a great little bird.
