You need a adapter from your Tx plug to the JR plug on the Phoenix dongle. And you HAVE to use the Phoenix USB interface as it is part of the copy protection.

You should have ordered the proper adapter when you ordered the Phoenix sim.

Did you tell Phoenix what Tx you were going to use? They send the proper dongle for whatever radio you tell them you're using.

I was playing the cheap skate, didnt want to spend the other $10. I have some adapter cables already and they say it comes ready for most setups. I plan to get a spectrum radio soon, maybe sooner the I thought.

AFAIK, there is no additional charge for the dongle (I didn't pay any addtional for mine), it comes with the package, you just need to tell them what radio you use.

The software will not function w/o the dongle attached to your radio through the trainer port.

I got my copy of Phoenix today, incredible shipping. Ordered on Tues recieved on Thurs. You guys had me in a panic so I spent $14 on an adapter. Well low and behold the cable I was using before plugs into Phoenix cable. If I wasnt so happy with the program I would be ticked right now. This thing is nothing like clearview. :smokin:

I didn't say anything about spending any money, rather, tried to tell you that an additional $10 wasn't necessary.

I don't see anything in Pinecone's post about buying anything either.

So just who, exactly, would you be ticked off at? Maybe the person who got in a panic?

Phoenix dongle plugs directly into JR/Spketrum radios. You need SOME form of adapter for any other radio. Phoenix sells the adapters, but other adapters MAY work.

The adapters are not really special, just the dongle.

If you buy the adapter from Phoenix (about $5 when you order Phoenix, IIRC) are you are SURE ti will work. Otherwise you may be placing a second order. :)
