Apparently the new Spectrum AR7100R and AR7100 receivers are having a problem with the main receiver antenna coming off. See service warning bulletin below.

Anyone have this problem?

Only a couple of dozen threads on the various boards about this. :)

Hey Pine,

Can't be too redundant about something that may crash your helicopter.

I agree! I hadn't seen the service bulletin. Thanks for posting VegasBob

I haven't seen it either. Thanks Vegas.

Agreed, but it would also help to add the service bulletin to the other thread. :)

And he DID ask if anyone had had this problem. And the other thread answers that question.

Hey Cone,

I posted this tread for two reasons. First, I wanted to give people a heads up on this problem so they don't crash their helicopter. I don't spend all of my time reading every post on every site. I didn't see the service bulletin posted here so I posted it.

Second, Horizon customer service claims only three people have had a problem with the antenna falling off. So in other words, they claim it's not a significant problem. I asked if anyone has had this problem to see how large the problem is. I'm thinking about buying a 7100 and don't want to get stuck with a piece of junk.

I post here on the Freak to give or get information, not to criticize others. You remind me of some know-it-all that thinks everyone is an idiot except for yourself. Why don't you keep your comments to yourself instead of trying to show us how smart or well read you are. Most of us have a job and can't read every post on every site. We appreciate a simple heads up on something that may cost us a lot of time and money.

A simple "here's another post on the same subject" would have been enough. You don't have to be a smart ass about it. People like you give the Freak a bad name.

1) That was the reason for the smiley in my first post. A bit of FRIENDLY poking.

2) Of course it would be TOO MUCH TROUBLE to do a quick search to see if there were any reports of problems.

3) The other thread clearly answers your question about whether other people have had the problem. What more do you want? Everyone to come post on YOUR thread?

And did you bother to add the report of the service bulletin to the LONG RUNNING thread about the problems, so people who have SUBSCRIBED to that thread might get the news?

Come on guys, stop it!

I'm the one that started the other thread and I still think VegasBob did the right thing. His title was appropriate.

Group hug or close the thread

:cheers

I never said that posting the info was inappropriate.

It would make more sense, to ME, to post in the long existing thread about this problem.

Pinecone, I was talking to the guy that owns Wildcat fuel the other day. He told me he wouldn't post on the Freak because people were too mean spirited. You prove his point.

Vegasbob, thanks again for the heads up but remember few good deeds go unpunished.:arggg:

FIGHT!!:YeaBaby:

DFlyer, see if you can't get the Wildcat owner to change his mind-I'd really like to hear his thoughts on the so-called nitro shortage.

Pardon the interruption. You may now return to your regularly scheduled discussion...:)

Warp, There is a fuel section on RunRyder he posts on. You might try there. I spoke with him on the phone and he actually told me people on the Freak were too mean spirited and he wouldn't post here.

Hope Pinecone doesn't rat us out for changing the topic.

Thanks VBob!
I'll poke around and see what I can find. Kinda surprised he finds us mean-spirited? The Freaks are a pretty friendly group for the most part:dontknow
