Tom,
You will love the lipos. Take your time and learn how they charge. After 5 or 6 flights you might notice some additional power.

6S3P is the plan.
I want to able to still use the 3300GP packs for sport flying (as I'm plaesed with the way the heli works now)
But that may change ...you may see 3 flight sets of Nimh for sale soon :D
The 6s3p setup is 1lb 2 oz lighter with at least 2 more volts....Yeah Baby!!
Jimmy, my Orbit Pro charger will be here this week and I will take my time and learn these batteries.
I said I wouldn't go the lipo route when I started this project....Guess I lied

keep us in the loop Tom. I trashed my Raven 50 last weekend at Huntsville and if it gets rebuilt, it will either be a 4stk or an electric.

I don't blame you for lieing Tom. After seeing Shannons Ion-X perform on those batts, I am floored. If the Ion-X is any indication, you will LOVE the LiPo's!!
Awesome!

maybe lipos should carry a warning that they are addictive.

Warning!!
The Fun Police have determined that the use of Lipo Batteries may be Hazardous to your bank account. Field testing has shown this technology to be addictive (especially to the first time user) and should not be used by those people with a history of credit card abuse!

Great! I'm real interested in how this combo works. Just remember to take it easy the first couple of cycles. After that they will get stronger with each charge for the next 6-7 cycles.
What is the AUW of your Raven setup?

Well I got 4 flights in on the Lipo's. All I can say is it's a different Heli now.
Taking a pound off my heli has turned it into a joy to fly.
My temps look great. I am still sneaking up on the flight times but 8.5 min
used 4200Mah. (1750 H/S)
More info as I figure it out

"I'm really interested in seeing this beast firsthand"
I would not call it a "Beast". But it does do what I want now.
The problem is, what I want keep's changing!
I won't know about the Chat. fun fly for a little while yet but I will be there if I can.

hey now, if your going to quote me, quote me correctly. I didn't say she was a Beast, I said she was a beast. be careful of the capitalization there Mr. Tom
Hopefully you'll make Chattanooga, if not I'll have to wait till Black Sheep to check her out.

Hey Tom
I spoke with a guy from Sly's hobby Den ( bought my first E-heli) and he said you like to wash your heli while still in flight. Is this true? :P
