after much consideration, i'm seriously thinking about selling my 550. i just don't fly it very often, and the $ i'd get from it would be spend on edf stuff- my new addiction. the issue is that i've no idea what to ask for it. i'll list a rundown of the stuff that comes with it, and maybe some of you could give me some suggestions
550 xes kit, chp carbon frame, two spare plastic frames, one set of spare cnc (gaui) main grips, two sets of rcp 500mm blades (one set v1, one set v2), tonicx z20a 980kv motor, rcp 1000w 1100kv motor, 13t/14t,15t,22t pinions, cc85hv esc, 401 gyro with 9254 servo and three 9650's on the swash, one fg canopy and one milk jug canopy, extra boom (short) and belt, extra boom supports & landing gear, extra brand new cnc seesaw & new cnc seesaw installed, lightweight paddles, stock paddles installed, plus numerous crash items including main shafts, spindles, tailshafts, tail blades, ball links ect. all told i've got well over $1200 into what is listed, plus i've got several 4s1p a123 packs that i could include for a bit more.
note to the mods, this is not a for sale add!! i just would like to get an idea of what i might be able to sell this for. thanks in advance for any help.

I'll give you my T-rex 450 for your 550 Hurricane! ;-)
Sounds like a nice helo, check past package deals on the for sale section and price accordingly...
Fly what you enjoy for sure!

totall it all up and start at the 3/4 5 price and go from there......most people are looking for deals and want to pay 1/2 what going cost is......if it's worth $1200....start at 900 or so....and see if you get any bites....put it on all 3 sites and let it rip.....since it is so complete you might get someone that want it....most likely though.....no one wants to pay for everything you have since they may not have bought or kept everything...
You could also list each part.....puta good price.....like the plastic frames $19....plus $5 shipping.....etc...and you may get more back that way....
even the blades should sell if in good condition...or sell the heli with 2 sets of blades for a good price...
Sometimes the more in the deal...the harder to sell...
You always have Eaby....and go high there...

or just keep the 550 and ditch the 450... or keep the heli's.. simply because later on you'll be pissed at yourself for selling them

I will have to agree....with mystic....planks get boring....edf's get boring......fun for a while, but the heli you can fly like a plank....loops, rolls, etc....but can fly in areas you can't fly planks.....
sell off a bunch of the stuff but keep your basic 550....and fly with your planks....
you may be sorry later....

yea, but i totally suck at flying the helis. i've only been flying planks and edf's since april, but everyone at the club that sees me fly the planes doesn't believe that i've only been flying a few months. i think i'm just one of those people who isn't meant to fly rotary winged aircraft.
plus, the jet i'm building and need the $ for will go 140mph and then some. gotta have it lol.

You don't just sell your heli here buddy....you give up the Hurri 550 forum...best thing on HF, you will be missed! Sell the rex, the Hurri is a much better heli to develope you heli skills on. (and then you can still be in our 'gang' ha ha

Have you thought about just selling all of the "extra" 550 stuff (or some of the wife's shoes and other goodies) ;) to see what that would bring in and then if it's not enough, sell the T-Rex 450 (if i had both of those helis and had to let one go it surely would be the 450 Rex lol).
I guess you gotta do what you gotta do but you will be missed here and i agree that later on you would miss the larger heli and the ability to take off and land on a dime. Taking off and landing on a runway might get old fast.. it did to me and thats why i'm flying helis.. but hey, then again, i'm a heli addict and view them as being top of the food chain. :)
As for price setting for your 550 stuff, i agree that 3/4 the cost is a good place to start.

just for the record
I would be interested in a few of your spares if you decide to split the sale like someone suggested
Send me a PM if you do decide to split
Cheers and good luck with the EDF's
Wish i was a natural at something...only thing im natural at is spending money on heli parts!

no way are the carbon frames being parted out lol. i'm not taking it all apart and rebuilding it with stock plastic frames, just to turn around and sell it. too much of a pita, especially if i won't be flying it again lol. i think i'm going to list it on the f/s section for $850 for everything. i've just now got to go through all my stuff and list exactly what's there and take pics.

The CHP frame is awesome. I wouldn't fly my Hurry without it :YeaBaby:

yes i have to say, the chp frame was the best upgrade i've done to it, if for no other reason then being able to use pretty much as big of a lipo/a123 pack as you want and still have room to shift said pack for cg balance. i'm going to be sorry to see the hurri go, but it just sits on the shelf. it's goddamn intimidating for some reason. idk why, but flying an edf at 120+ mph doesn't bother me....

, but flying an edf at 120+ mph doesn't bother me....
because it's just "point & fly"...turnaround, talk to a buddy for a second....scratch your gonads...etc. :dontknow (I know at a 120 mph it better be a fast scratch !)
Freakin heli, think about anything else other than your next command and it's dirt pie time....:arggg:
But this hobby is great, do what moves you and you may come back at some time.....
you'll always have a "hall pass" to visit us on the 550 forum....:Bang

well, the only way i'll be keeping my 550 is if i can figure out how to fund my other projects. i'm thinking of pimping out my gf for a week or so. wouldn't get much though.

the heli, or the girl?
naa, you don't want to see that. she's got a head on her like a blue hubbard squash after a rainy month outside.
as for the heli, there will be pics of it in the f/s add, if i ever get off my lazy ass and make one lol.
