I recently purchased a Blackhawk 450 SE from K-Planes. I had previously only flown my Blade CX. After hanging around this forum and going back and forth on the HB King 2 and the Blade 400 I was just about to pull the trigger on the Blade 400. Then I began to read about all the issues with the servos and came across a post on the Heli Pro Blackhawk. The SE unit comes with all aluminum swash and carbon fiber frame. With in a week I was hovering it in my garage and it is rock solid! Transmitter and bird for under $400.00 I highly recommend this bird for newbs it comes 3D capable and looks great too.

I'm a newb that was flying a Honey Bee FP. Bought the BH 450SE from Ka-planes for essentially the same reasons you did. I've found hovering it to be a breeze (partly because of the larger rotor :)_). You're right, it's rock solid. Next step is the big gulp, actually flying it!
