Hi everyone,

I waited until almost a week to post my results with my Trex 700n so far. I completed my build last Thursday morning. Thanks to cudaboy_79 for getting me the kit.

The build process was very simple, and if you have built a 600n before, then the 700n should be no problem. I had same shim issue as most, using the smallest it was too big, had to sand down the .8mm shim to .59mm to get the bottom bolt to fit. My carbon rod that is used with the tail push rod was drilled to small, however I was able to fix it. Also my canopy had a minor crack due to how Align packs canopy in the box.

So far I have put just over 7 gallons of fuel (46+ flights) in just under a week. I haven't noticed any vibration issues and nothing has come loose, every screw has stayed tight. All can I say is WOW, the heli rocks. There is a ton of power available (its a 90  ). My 600n machines have been siting there. Power is not the only gain, it is stable but very fast at the same time.

I have included pictures of my 700n and a video. Sorry about the video, the camera man (you know who you are! ) sucks at using my camera, and zoom for that matter. I will work on getting a better video and flight.

My setup:

Trex 700n
OS 91 SZ with Cline Regulator
Hatori SB18
Spekturm AR7100R
JR 8717 (8V)
Spartan ds760 with BLS 251
FP Evolite 2S1P 2500mah
Radix 710mm Stickbangers

The headspeed set at 1850rpm. I'm getting 6 1/2 flights out of a gallon of fuel and around 8 to 8 1/2 mins a tank. The FP evolite 2500mah pack gives me 4 flights and a 2100mah will give me 3 flights. I'm using a fuel magnet instead of the stock clunk. I didn't use the sensor that was included with the AR7100R, instead I used the align sensor (cut the align connector and soldered on a standard connector) as it was a cleaner install.

I agree with all your conclusions - you've put a lot of fuel through !! I'm on about my 10th tank and have just leaned the OS91SZ up enough to get decent power and this is a rocket - it's light so got real good power to weight ratio - I can see this is gonna be my every day heli for quite some time :)

What is a good temp for an OS .91 to set in my Multigov?
What are decent headspeads for Norm IDL1 and IDL2?

nwolsink,

I really don't have a good temp for because it varies depending on how hot it is that day, fuel, how hard you load the motor up, etc. I tuned the motor by sound and performance. Sorry couldn't be more help. Some recommend 200-210f at the head (measured right before the blue heatsink), but your motor may vary again and don't just focus on temps (within reason).

As far as headspeed, I just fly one headspeed at 1850-1860rpm there is plently of power. With the multigov you can set your idl1 to 1850 and idle2 1900rpm (or higher up to you).

Thanks.

What is your needles setting for the "OS 91 SZ with Cline Regulator".

I thought 185 deg f on the OS was optimal. I'm about to glue my Multigovernor temp sensor on the viperhead and I'm wondering on which fin to glue it in.

So far 6 flights on the 700N and it flies just like the 600N, but with more power reserve. You can tic-toc all day long and it's begging for more ! Inverted autos are a joke, so much inertia with the 690 Radix.

It's got great stability and smoothness. Roll rates are aout the same as my 600N, plenty fast with the stock paddles. I have a pair of V paddles to try, but so far, the stock ones are pretty good.

speedpass,

Main needle around 1 1/4 out but varies a click or too in depending how hot it is that day. Mid needle at 1 turn out, and I have touched the low (mixure screw).

Again I'm using Magnum 30% with all the shims in the motor, and getting around 8 to 8 1/2 min of flight time.

Thanks.

Finless,

Yeap, very noticable speed increase and the sound while doing it on a 90 versus a 50. I threw it in at the end, I find it harder for me to do crack moves due to the fact I fly pinch and I don't use a neckstrap.

nice video alex

Nope haven't tried the TST 710. I'm waiting on the TST extremes 690 to become available.

Also thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Thanks.
