Weird....

I have the spektrum receiver with the little extra small receiver attached on a Trex 450 with a gy401 gyro and all stock Align esc/motor. When I plug in battery to esc all systems work but the LED in the receivers blink. I have flown like this because I range check it and have no problem. Another oddity (sp) is that if I plug in the battery to the esc and the GY401 does not initiate (blinks) then my receiver LED's don't blink! I have re-bound 20 times, re-set ESC, double and triple checked batteries and it still does this.....Has anyone else encountered this?

It does not seem to affect the performance but.....I am not real comfortable with the receiver light blinking even though all servo's/esc are performing....

Thoughts??

Will your receiver blink every time, or typically when you reconnect, or change your battery?

The blinking indicates temporarly loss of power, and is ment as a warning if you have in-flight power loss.

Did you leave the bind plug in ?

mine will blink if I interupt power and dont turn off Tx. ...turn Tx on then Rx and blinking goes away to solid . if not you may have a dmaged Rx.

My transmitter is good....I have several other models that don't do this. I don't have the bind plug in, and no....it doesn't blink every time. It does blink more often than not though...

thanks for all the posts so far....appreciate the help. cb

I have swaped out remote Rx 2 times on my nitro due to vibes and crashes, both worked fine but did same as yours .

The newer Rxes will blink if they detect a power interruption. So if you touch the contacts, then get it right, the Rx lights will blink.

If you connect and disconnect and reconnect, the lights will blink.

If you fly and have a low voltage event, the lights will blink.

It is a feature to tell you that your Rx has seen a low voltage event.

I have a DX7 and a 6100AR. I noticed the same thing. It blinks if I disconnect power and keep the transmitter on. I didn't know what this meant, but figured didn't want to fly it without a steady light. I figured out if I power cycle my transmitter and then connect the battery again I get a solid light.

Maybe it is like someone said, it represents a loss of power.

And the only downside of flying with it flashing, is that you won't know if you have inflight power problems. They work fine with the flashing LEDs.

Terry is quite right. What I can add to his valuable advice is that I noticed sometimes a "power surge" might have triggered the blinking LED circuitry. I always add a good quality Electrolyte capacitor to my receiver's voltage input. Make your own, it's very easy. Used or unwanted computer mainboards are a good source for quality electrolyte capacitors.

Pinecone is correct. The latest code level for Spektrum RX's will blink if you cycle power on the RX without also cycling power on the TX. If you don't want them to blink power off the TX and power the TX back on. Now power up the RX and they will not be blinking. If you then power off and on the RX again you will see they are blinking.

PHEW!!

I was having the same problem (blinking when I switched packs after the first run). Before putting in the second pack, I cycled the Tx, connected the second pack, and solid light. THANK YOU BOB!!!!
