Hi guys,

In the manual of my stratus kit i see that i need to put a piece of M8 clear silicone tube (part no. 0316) on my spindle first.
Is this piece of silicone tube really needed? Just because they forgot to include it in my kit.
My seller says that this piece of silicone tube is allready not included in the kits for a long time because it's not important???

Best regards,
Gio.

Gio,

No, you don't need the silicone tube. The Fury Extreme manual states, "The addition of the silicone tube is a small enhancement to the flight characteristics of the rotor head and in no way is considered either critical or safety related. The rotor head can be used with or without the silicone tube."

I can't figure out what possible enhancement the tube would have, but then I'm no engineer. Perhaps it's magic.

The tube is useful. In the very original head block design that predates the entire Fury line, the center of the head block was machined so that the center of the blade axle would pivot on that point. This pivot is important because it helps to unload the dampers from pure vertical loads so that they can deal with teeter only. Soon after that head block design was released, there were concerns that the contact b/t the blade axle and center of the head block could cause RFI. So, the head block's center was opened up and the silicone tubing was added to create a soft center pivot for the blade axle. When the head is built in 3D configuration with stiff dampening, the orings are either hard enough and/or compressed enough that they probably do not significantly deform with pure vertical flight loads. This is certainly going to the case with the 90 D one piece dampers. With softer head set ups such as we use for FAI, the center pivot becomes an integral part of good head set up and collective response. You can decide how your projected head set up fits into this description and recommendation.

Hi Guys,

I have just one more question about the 90D head dampers, should i grease or lube them when i insert them in to the head or not?

Best regards,
Gio.

it's best to put a little grease on them, yes.
