I'm getting ready to paint my first canopy. I don't have an airbrush, so I'll be using rattle cans. Does anyone have any general hints, tricks, tips, etc. that I should know? Thanks.

I've never painted a canopy, so I wouldn't know if I fail at it or not, but considering my other artistic abililties, I doubt I'll be any good at it. :)

you might want to try practicing on a crashed canopy first:)

The one I'm painting has a few battle scars! :)
Use light coats not ONE heavy coat, Also prepping the canopy is key.

1. Wash your canopy with soap and water. Clean and dry is the best canvas.
2. Don't paint in a windy or dusty place.
3. Room temperature is what paint is designed to best flow at. Not too hot, not too cold.
4. There's a fine line between full, even coverage and runs. Better to error the light side.
5. When you're painting, pretend your canopy is 3" longer in every direction. (Press early, release late.)
6. Completely mix your paint.
7. Point the nozzle away from you... (Don't laugh.)
Good luck.
