Hi, im pretty new to the hobby, and got in with electrics in the lipo age. I dont really know much about them, but have been learning alot over the past week. I learned recently it's bad to discharge them down to nothing, and i thought the oppisite the first few days. I am purchising a cell balancer today, to maintain them cause im scared to frikkin death of a fire. Anyhow, my main quest is

Can i store my lipos in my Trex 450 se v2 metal parts box, the one everything came in? Will it keep a fire self contained, i dont care if it destroys the other batteries, just not my house or pets.

Not sure as its thin aluminium. I keep all my lipos in a alu case.
I am not worried, it will not spontaneously conbust, it will only catch fire if too much voltage during charge or a crash or a short circuit or possibly over discharge.
Treat them well don't discharge more than 80%, use a cell balancer and good charger and its all safe. Do not charge unattended

Those are basically wooden particleboard cases with a thin skin of aluminum over their exterior. They look nice and solid, but are actually fairly flimsy. They're good at preventing minor damage, but don't expect them to be as strong as they look. This also applies to the large cases that hold the entire heli.
