You don't have to program the radio to use the esky HH gyro. They were designed to work with a non programable radio, such as the stock esky radio, and are self contained. All the adjustments are done using the pots on the gyro and adjusting the tail servo position on the boom.

A gyro that can be programed using a computer transmitter, like yours, will have two seperate connectors that hook into the receiver - one for programing and one for servo control. Esky gyros only have one connector - servo control.

The esky 704A HH gyro does have two connectors, one for remote gain and so it can be programmed from the transmitter. If I recall the original 704 rate gyro could not.

The owner's manuel for that gyro states "gain value must be adjusted though gyro crust". Translate that however you want. ;)

Hmmm, your right, it does have two connectors.

I've never had any luck adjusting my esky HH gyro with my futaba 9 chp super. I've always just used the gain pot on the gyro. Maybe my gyro was faulty?

Yeah well, whatever the manual says, I have been adjusting mine remotely from my DX7 since I got it with great success. A small error in the chinglish could change "can also be adjusted" to "must be adjusted". I haven't re-visited the manual but I take your word for its lack of clarity. From what I remember of it you may as well have torn off a couple of sheets of toilet paper and stared blankly at them, at least this way you could gain some inspiration from clarity of thought.

LOL.....The instruction that came with the gyro are pretty worthless.

Make sure the single orange wire lines up with white (the function side) not the black power side.
