I am planning to put a scale fuselage on my helo. I like the MD500, but I would really like something that not everyone has. This Cobra fuselage is listed for a Mini Titan E325. I know that the E325 will fit in some of the MD500 fuselages that are out there, but will the Belt CP fit in this one? Has any one ever done one/seen one?

Then you'd better hurry, because with the elevated tail mechanics and low price that fuselage is going to take off like nobody's business. I would have bought a helicopter just for that fuselage, but the only supplier who had them in stock at the time never answered my request for a shipping cost estimate. Oh well, I'll just have to make do with the HDX500 I got instead ;)
It's a new arrival, so I doubt if anyone's had time to modify it for other helicopters yet - but it is pretty narrow everywhere except the engine pods, so expect to get in trouble with the external linkages on a Belt CP. With a DTS mod, I don't see why it couldn't be made to fit... You may have to fiddle with tailboom and belt lengths, but it doesn't look like height would be a problem. Stuffing a Belt in there would be an interesting project, but I'm sure you would have to get creative at some point. Then again, that's half the fun, isn't it?

I've been eyeing this too. I've got that spare EXI sitting on my bench. :)

believe i read it will be too small for the Belt, not to mention the tail mechanics will have to change.

There must be pullys in the tail of that heli..
That would be a good project tho. I say you should go for it!

Yeah, now that I compare a Mini Titan frame to the fuselage, it's obviously a very tight fit even on the MT. You would only have to be a little off in any dimension and you're screwed. Looks a lot taller than it really is... Must be the really low MT frame that's playing tricks on the eyes.
The raised tail mechanics come with the kit, which still makes it pretty interesting at less than $70 for the unpainted version. In a worst case scenario you just end up getting the cheapest Mini Titan kit to chuck in the fuselage, and you're still not much over the cost of Fusuno's top-of-the-line Airwolf fuselage :D

I just realised that this fuselage is made out of PVC. Thats the see-thru plastic that comes in two halves.
These are definatly cheaper than the fibre glass ones.
I don't know if anyone else noticed this... And I don't know if the price is good for the material it is made from?
You guys probably know more than me.

According to this topic that I just read comparing the Mini Titan and the Trex, the mini Titan is actually larger. In the pic the Mini Titan is on top.

At the Belt's widest it is only 2 3/4 Inches (at the main gear). I don't see any reason why this would not work. Maybe Dierwolf can remember where he read about it. I plan to keep looking. Here is some work on the Cobra on the Mini Titan board

Be careful mate Im sure Mika and Dierwolf are right, thre MT frame is exeptionally compact from top to bottom. I think the Belt frame is quite a bit taller. The body fits very close to MT frame

Mika mentioned getting a MT fuselage. Would that be easy to get one and put all of the belt parts in it or would I end up having to buy a lot of other MT parts?

I looked at a Mini-Titan at the LHS this morning. They didn't have a Cobra fuselage, but I looked at the MT pretty closely and I gotta say I don't think the Belt will fit.
The MT is much shorter heightwise than the Belt and the tail boom mounting and drive is completely different. Although it's kinda cool because the MTs belt, forward drive gear, and boom come off in one piece!
I have been thinking a lot about this mod, but after looking closely at the MT, I'm afraid it won't work.
You'd have to buy so many of the MT parts that it would probably be cheaper to buy a whole MT.

Really? I thought that clear plastic bodies were polycabonate which is far stronger than PVC and stronger than GRP.

That's what I was afraid of
