I purchased tickets to fly to Indiana but after talking with the airline it looks like I am going to get hit with a few baggage fees in order to bring the stuff I need, plus the car rental.

If anyone wants to share the ride up to IRCHA let me know as I will more than likely be driving. I also have a room at the Fairfield Inn ($79 a night) from Tuesday to Sunday if anyone is needing a place to crash.

I am planning on leaving on Tuesday the 12th and returning on Sunday the 17th.

I am guessing gas will be roughly $550 round trip, so if your looking to split the trip let me know and we can meet up in Florida or GA depending on where you live.

Thanks in advance.

I'm only driving as far as the airport.

LOL...

Yeah well that was my thought but since there won't be much fuel available at IRCHA it's going to be pretty tough. I have no problems flying with my gear but now all the baggage rates have changed and gone up in price.

Only logical thing is to drive, if not there is always next year.

Who says there won't be much fuel available at IRCHA. I know Bob and Becky from B&B hobbies is going to have 60 cases of Cool Power 30%. I would think Wildcat and Magnum will be there selling fuel also. They have always been there previous years. I seriously doubt the airline baggage costs will be more than $600 plus fuel costs to get from Florida to Muncie and back LOL

On the way back from Huntsville, Delta charged me $188 to get my Curtis Case on the plane, coincidentaly the same price that my actual RT ticket cost me. They said since they changed the dimensions of the baggage requirements that it didn't fit by 4 inches.

It's great to hear that there will be fuel in Muncie, there was some speculation that there may not be much on hand but I found it a bit hard to believe. Glad to hear Bob & Becky will be there, haven't seen them much this year.

I would think you can ship the case by Fed Ex or UPS for a lot cheaper than $186 both ways. Ship it to the motel your staying. When you ship the case, go ahead and pay for return shipping. Then just drop it off at AMA before you leave and they can have it picked up for shipping. I know several that have done that before. Also there is a shipping business next to the Signature Inn. They handle UPS and FedEx, DHL, or what ever you might need.

Morgan mixed B&B CP 30% for them to sale at the Jamboree. That is probably the first fuel above 20% they have mixed in a month or so.

The first time I went to the Nats, I shipped my two birds in a hard-sided double golf case by SKB. I used FedEx two-day air and it cost $84 each way. Then again, on the way up they lost the case for a day, so it was a day late. That ended up free. The case and contents were in great shape on both ends.

Plenty of fuel at the Jamboree. There will be 3 vendors onsite.

Mike, how's it going? Not sure if you remember me. I've seen you around at some of the FL funflies.

I'm in Cape Canaveral, FL and looking to split the cost as well. It's one heck of a LONG drive!!! If you haven't found anybody yet, let me know so we can talk.
