Hi Guys, I have read so much about the Belt CP in this forum and I am happy that just by chance this was the bird I chose to buy for my step up Heli! It sounds like it's a great flyer and very upgradeable and prety robust, and it seems the majority are quite happy with this Heli So I guess my choice was a good one. My question is when it comes to upgrades that really enhance the performance, which ones have you all seen to be the best? Is it the Servos from stock to TP SG90s, The ESC/BEC unitfrom 25a to 30a like a volcano, The gyro from rate to HH? E-sky to Futaba? From what I have read so far it seems to me that the sevos and the ESC should be done first as these can cause an unwanted crash easily, and will increse the performance, am I right in assuming this? and then the gyro and next the rotor head to 7075 CNC?
this site has been really invaluable to me since I joined and it really makes this hobbie very enjoyable and fun!
Thanks all
GerryG

IMO the upgrades should be done in this order.

Servos- just about anything is better than stock, TP sg90's are cheap and give you much more control.
Transmitter- I went for the DX7 but any programmable radio will be better.(of course this meant upgrading the Rx aswell)
Main Gear- Helimax there is no substitute.
Main & Feathering shaft- Stainless steel.
Tail Pitch Slider- Blade 400
Cnc swash
Gyro- HH
Blades- Align 325mm Woodies track great. K&B tails.
Canopy- Trex 450 will give you extra room for bigger batteries. And the canopy holders to TREX.
Battery- 2100mah

These imo are the most important.
I had a problem with the first esc I had but replaced it with the stock one again and never had another problem again

I also upgraded the fins to trex cf ones and the vertical fin holder to a trex one as it actually held onto the boom.

You could replace the head and tail with cnc but it is cheaper to crash the plastic while you are still learning, and besides they do what they are meant to. The cnc is more for bling. Once you can fly the cnc will be more hard wearing when you dont crash so much but not nesessary early in the piece.

I'm sure there will be other opinions ;) but this is mine.

I pretty much agree with Darins priorities.

For sure the servos should be swapped out first, they are the single most troublesome items.

The computer Tx is nice, but don't worry if you can't afford one right away, the stock one is perfectly adequate for learning with.

Darin mentioned a canopy, some guys will fly without the canopy while learning, but I think you should always fly with it on as it helps a lot with keeping your orientation.

While a nicer canopy doesn't directly make you fly better, having a little pride in how your heli looks never hurts!

all the belts have been shipping with digital servos now and i think there good. i have upgraded everything but im just waiting for them to break in a crash to replace them.

I agree with Darin and Wiz. Only thing I disagree with is that the Align blades should be after the servos.

The stck blades that come with the stock belt cp are soo bad that it hardly lifts the heli.

The things that have made the greatest improvement to my heli have been the CopterX
head and tail and the DTS mod. It flies much better with this head, like a Trex 450.

If your radio works ok then keep it for the time being though you'll need something better at some point.

Better servo's (sg90's are the cheapest decent option) are probably essential.

I changed my radio because the stock one was so glitchy and spoiled the overall heli.

Basically are:
Servo
Align Pro blade (But If you think you gonna crash alot, get a plastic one, this will save you lots of $$ from crashes). http://www.ushobbysupply.com/product_info.php?cPath=56&products_id=305&osCsid=93fc46f5c6ab0d76e79784d170adca66
Stock up the Helimax Main Gear, and get some harden feathering shaft from ushobbysupply.

Belows are good and if you have a little more to spend:
A cheap HH gyro; Esky HH ($30) or Telebee($50) will do just fine. This will save you from lots of trouble to get a perfect tail while flying or adjusting.
ESC is about luck, some got their heli burnt, some flew it without a problem. So just keep an eye at it. When you notice the plastic wrap melts away, is better to change it right away. Hobbywings or Dynam will do just fine ($25-$30).

Everything else mention by Real_Sparky is all up to your budget, flying style and feels.

Welcome to this cheapo beast heli. :clappp

It is very difficult to put these things in order as it depends if what you already have for a given component is already working the way you want it to. If your mainshaft is straight and you don't crash, then why change it. Then there is the matter of cost. For example I think my DX7 AR7000, was probably the best upgrade, however this is an expensive upgrade and as Ian says if your radio is already working then save on this expense. You can use the money saved for repairs. My reason for changing to a computer Tx is that my confidence was completely shot by a horrendous glitchy stock radio, that I could not resolve for love nor money. Anyway, for what it is worth here is my list in the order of what I believe was the most effective change to heli, regardless of cost or whether I needed a replacement or not.

DX7/AR7000, CopterX head, Align Pro blades, Gorilla paddles, DTS mod, SG90 servos, Helimax maingear, Align mainshaft, Trex canopy.
