Hi guys,
My new logo 500 has made his first flights. It's flying incredibly well, never flown such a cool heli, but here's the point :
During the last flight, I had many motors cutoffs, which last about 1sec every time. It happens every time right after a hard move. I think it's the controller, here's my setup :
6S TP 5000
CC85HV
Hacker Electric turbine A-40-10L with 15 tooth pinion.
WR 5A Hbec.
Vbar & 550 rotortechs.
After a flight, everything is hot : motor, controller and battery... Battery and controller were really COOLER after flights with a 600E, and were working with a NEU 1515/2.5D/H which is a power monster. And the power was by far superior (in term of RPMS and power holding).
Maybe I've missed something ? a controller setup (I'm not running gov now) ? a mesh setup ? (i've got no mesh, as advised in the manual) too tight belt ? I don't know !
Maybe you have a solution, but there is a big problem here ! It MUST have more rpms than my 600E !
Thanks,
Nicolas

In your programming for the CC controller do you have overcurrent and voltage cutoff disabled?? If not then disable the current limiting, and as well put the voltage cutoff as low as possible.

Do you have a temp gun? With the main gear as its never 100% round I find that if you do it right in some spots there will be a tiny amount of backlash and other none at all, this way your not loading up the motor too much.
Make sure the belt can be pushed a few MM.

Hi,
I don't have a temp gun, neither a tachometer.
The CC85HV has the current limiting disabled.
I'm going to chech my belt and gear mesh.
Thanks.

Ok, so in fact my current limiting was on 'very sensitive'... All parameters were changed as i've upgraded the soft !
My belt isn't too tigh, i've got a little bit of gear mesh. BUT : There isn't that much POWER !! even with full 100% throttle !
This motor is said to be powerfull and cool, but i'm a bit disappointed. My rex had more punch with 600s blades. And the motor is hot.
Tips ? Move to a neu 1910H ?
Thanks,
Nicolas

This does not sound normal, the logo 500 has more power than the trex 600. Is half a kilo lighter!

Contrary to a lot of reports from other users of this forum, I've had two Hacker motors and have not been happy with the performance of either of them. My Logo 10 originally had a C50-13L which ran hot and bogged seriously, even on 6S. It was replaced with a Neu 1910/1Y which had so much power it could strip the main gear in flight. I was talked into an A50-14S for my Logo 600 which exhibits the same behviour and in fact runs so hot after 9 minutes of basic sport-flying that it has the smell of electronic death about it after every flight!
I have a Tango 45-10 in my 500 and I'm very happy with the power for my style of flight, and of course, it comes down cold to the touch. If I had the cashflow at the moment I'd be replacing the A50 in my Logo 600.

If you don't have much $$ at the mo you can get the Z50A 780KV for $125AU and its great. It runs so cool!

The 10s FP 3700's and Tango 45-7 (13t) in my 600 3d have been reaching up into the 130 degree range. They didn't always get that hot. Any explanations as to why that would be? Could tired batteries cause that?

Something definately seems off with your setup. My Logo500 with an A40-8L motor owns my 6S Trex with no room for argument. Never bogged this heli even when getting into a bad position a few times and needing to save it. The ET motor is supposed to be even stronger

The (8) is defintely stronger then the (10) though...

I would have ordered the 8-L if it has been available ! Damned !
Maybe one of you can help me to choose a motor between NEU 1910, Plettember orbit 25 HE and Zpower A30-A ?
Nicolas
Hi EcoFan,
I'm flying a Z30 (not the cooler running A version) and I'm quite happy with it. It runs about 130 F on 85 F days and always has good power through the whole flight. I'm getting 5:45 flights flying 2100 rpm and moderate 3D on TP5000 6S packs. I could use a bit more pop, but that could be my SAB 550 blades. I've got about 250 flights on this motor and it's showing no sign of fatigue whatsoever. For $110 US, it's hard to beat.
Keep 'em flying.:YeaBaby:

At the risk of spamming, I have a Neu 1910/1Y for sale, US$100 shipped :)
