I'm having a hard time getting the tail pitch slider on the shaft. I've sanded the shaft smooth but no go on the slider. I keep sanding but no luck, I'm using 400 grit wet/dry. Antbody else have this problem. Bob mebtion this in his build video but Damn! I've been working on this for 30 mins! The slider is getting hung up right where the flat spot is on the shaft, I can make it about 3mm past it. :arggg:

Sounds like you may have a burr sticking out from the flat spot where it was machined. Try using a metal file around the edges. I assume your talking about the part on the end of the shaft.

I hope this isnt a sign of things to come, I just broke a pivot ball in the swash. That was a $71 mistake. Oh well, my fault I'll have a new one in a few days........

I did have problems with the shaft as well, thats the only drama i had. I got the hardened one and its was perfect.
Those swash balls need to be installed with care.

I also broke a ball off in the swash - learned my lesson!
I tend to want to over tighten things I should not....
Overall, from all the helis I have built, the Logo 500 3D was the most problematic. Not because it was difficult, but because I kept running into VERY tight fitting parts. I had to resist them temptation to bang things into place with a hammer!
But it all came together eventually, and it IS a great heli.

Hah! I actually did bang the tail shaft into the tail case with a hammer on my 600! Probably shouldn't admit that :)

This is far from the smoothest heli I've ever built, but I can see that its gonna be a light one thats for sure. I think the Mikado plastic is high quality but I think the maching could but much better. The instructions leave alot to be desired, maybe I've gotten spoiled by other helis I've built. :) Overall I think its gonna be a sweet machine!

It is a sweet machine. I weighed my E550 RTF with 6S 5000MAH lipo and it was 3.3KG, the logo 500 with same gear RTF is 2.8KG!

Two words: drill press.
Further to that, I have owned Logo's since 2005 and I have never had to change a tail shaft.

I do see a 600 Vbar in my future! I think these Logos are a very smart design.

Keep us posted Hulley, past the frustration I know you will love the way it flies, sincerely I do. ;) Curious if you viewed Bob "finless" build video for this heli? I ask to make sure you have the top mixer orientation correct as it gets missed by several.

The only real frustration was the fitment of the tail pitch slider, which took alot of work, and me breaking off a ball screw in the swash which was completly my fault. I watched Bobs vids and they were very helpfull and I did pay close attention to orientation on the mixer arms. I cant wait to get this baby in the air!! :YeaBaby:
