HELP!! I have the Futaba T12FG 2.4, has anyone set up the Align Governor on the 700 with this radio that can help me? could do with a step by step guide
I've managed to asign a switch (SA) for Gov on/off, but thats about it, all goes to pot after that!
The 700 flies like dream, just need to get the Governor working now.
Thanks

I don't have the 12FG but have done this on the JR DSX9 - sounds like you've done the hard bit - now all you need to do is set the end point (ATV on Futaba) to set the gov speed on whichever channel you've plugged the - as a start guide check the users manual for the gov which lists 60% for 1774 and 70% for 1927 rom so why not set it for 65% then get someone to tach it - you've checked the LED does the right things ? Off when the magnet under the sendor - red when off and green when on and don't forgert to set the throttle limits !

Thanks for the reply Mercuriell,
I've put both magnets in and they are the right way, LED off when one of them is under the sensor etc..
on the 12FG it has a Governor menu where I think you can set up the 3 rate's, Normal, Idel1, Idel2 with the %'s for each,( Normal 50.5%,Idle1 55%, Idel2 60%) so I'm not sure if I need to use the End Pionts on the Governor Ch witch only has 2?
I'm using the Futaba R617FS receiver so I only have the 7 channels, I'm off down the field later, so I will have another go, I'll let the post know how I get on.

I'd steer clear of Gov menus unless you're using the Futaba GV-1 on a Futaba radio - you only have one speed to set on the G600 so you only need one channel which serves to both switch gov on and off and adjust the rpm via the ATV (end points)

Oh.... ok, I will give that a try with that in mind, today I did manage to get things sort of working, but as the engine is still running in I thought the Govenor was having problems with a rich engine.
Running on Throttle curves the engine runs fine, but on the Govenor the head speed is well low.
So End Points it is......
I'll let you know how I get on

I'm struggling with the align gov as well .. but got it working somehow.
I have a 12Z but i guess the software is the same as your 12FG.
Some hints:
- As usual Futaba uses other servo timings, therefore you need to reverse the gov channel !
- i'm using the gov menu and it this work's fine. Use the percentage values and forget about the rpm option
- you can program up to three values for each flight mode. I use the same values for Normal, IdleUp1 and IdleUP2 (all set to Grp). I explicitly turn the gov off on hold (using single override). I notice that the Align gov does not like the gov fail over on low throttle values. When i flipped the hold switch (bringing throttle down to 10%) than it took a while until the engine rpm came down. Turning of the gov works much faster and better.
- in addition to the flight modes i'm using a assigned switch to preselect the setting e.g. off, set1 , set 2
- My idle up values are between 60% and 70%. Lower values than 55% result in the symptom you described, like a rich engine that does not like to rev !! It's not rich it's more likely a rmp range that the engine and the gov do not like!!
We tried to tach the headspeed with a Optical Tachometer .. but i could not really trust the readings from my buddy. He told me 60% was 1650 headspeed and 7% was on 2150. The difference was not that huge and i would notice a as low as possible and a over rev the headspeed. Anyhow, i guess the values in the manual are not far from what i felt on the head: 60% ~1780 and 70% ~1920
I will most likely replace the align gov with a multigov (because a still have one on my bench). The i will no for sure what headspeed i'm running :)
Hope this helps ..

I know this would open a big can of worms for me....
Thanks Harry so you havent touched your End Pionts?
This is what I have done so far...in the Function menu, Selected a switch (SA)
http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/654/dsc03183by2.jpg
End Point Menu, End Pionts are set to 100%
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/5512/dsc03182ua1.jpg
And then in the Govenor Menu I have set up the 3 settings, Normal Idelup1 Idelup2

on the Govenoe Menu's you can see that thhe rate is ON, however the G600 is off on the Heli !!
when I reverse the Govenor channel the G600 is ON all the time no matter what I do to the switch set up.
How does this all look so far? am I doing anything wrong?
Cheers Harry

Hi Simon
No i have not touched any endpoints - i guess this will have no effect anyhow but i might check back with my "bantam heli master"
- you really need to revers the channel. So the always on is in the right direction.
- the only way i could turn off the gov was by setting the percentage to off (basically go down to 0% than the radio will show off)
- The off/act/on thing does not really turn the gyro offf. It's more an indication if the radio software is evaluating the value or not.
- you can verify your settings in the "servo check" menu. There xou can easily see what effect a switch or any software settings will have.
Hope this helps Harry
