Can you use re-chargable batteries for the radio?

What volts would you get down to on the radio before changing batteries?

For what radio? Most radios will support Nicad / Nimh rechargeable. Most radios also have a low voltage alarm, check the user manual. Some nimh have nearly the same capacity (mah) as alkalines ... ie Maha PowerEx AA 2700 mah. However, Nimh suffer from self discharge ...after 30 days they will have lost 20 to 50% capacity depending on the quality of the cells.

For the Spectrum radios that came with the Blade CX2 and the Blade 400.

Yes, you can use rechargable NiXx batteries in the Spektrum LPD5 that comes with the CX2 and in the DX6i that comes with the B400. The best choice is Rayovac Hybrids or Sony Eneloops as their AA cells are about 2000mAh and a new formulation of NiMH with very low self discharge, retaining 80% charge after 12 months on the shelf.

Yep, Maha has a cell similar to the eneloop .. Imedeon 2100 mah ... if you charge AA in your TX, make sure you charge at 1/10 C or less ... so about 200 mah MAX for the Imedeon / Eneloop.

Make sure you use a charger designed for JR / Spektrum ... others would have polarity reversed.
