OK, I searched and got some info. But I am doing my second nitro engine breakin, since the 70s. But this is a ringed heli engine.

I have heard of doing short hovers, then landing and letting some cooling for the first tank or so. Good idea? One the ground idle or mid stick (good RPM for the fan but low loading)?

Or just hover for X period of time, then let fully cool? What is X? Full tank? 5 minutes? 3? 2? 1?

How about mixture control for break in (new world? I have seen some people using a Carb Smart set at 90C for break in. I have a MultiGov Pro on the bird. Use it?

Any other tips, tricks, advice?

BTW the other nitro break in I have done this century is an OS 15LA for an RC Combat plane, and that went through a combat breakin. 30 seconds runs, fully cool times 4. 4 minute runs with pinch fuel line to lean to peak RPM every 30 seconds, times 4. Not applicable to a heli engine. :)

Just run it very rich and hover out a tank, let it cool then repeat process.

I went through about one gallon of fuel this way.
