Hi there. Whilst still building my Vario Bell 204B, last week I ordered a Bergen Intrepid Gas EB. I just sold all my small helis (nerv wrecking little buggers), kept my Trex 600 and of course my
Vario ( http://gallery.vario-helicopter.org/gallery/vijver ) and decided to go fly BIG.

I can't wait to build and fly it!

Contgratulations. I've flown one for 4 years and bought a second hand one last year as a backup. Great birds. Very reliable if properly put together. Great customer support.

Hey, you are from Belgium? Where do you live?
I drove through Belgium today, on my way home from Luxembourg to Holland. In september I will be the to on the F1 GP in Franchorchamps!

What kind of parts are you talking about?

Hi, I noticed that, when I tilt the heli backwards (with the tank half filled), the fuel runs out of the overflow vent (mounted below the side frame, just like the manual says.

Second I noticed that the klunk, pointing up when I tilt the heli backwards, is no longer in the fuel, but rises about one inch above the fuel level at that position.

Is this all OK? or am I doing something wrong here?
I planned to make the maiden tomorrow or saturday, and don't want the engine to give up one me when I make a looping or a flip (nose up orientation).

Hello HeliEdje,

The clunck must stay in the fuel, no matter what or how. I've put a weight on the cluck. the overflow must go down (curb) then up, slightley higher then the fueltank.
I've also put a cluck on the overflow to prevent durt to come in.

HeliEdje,

Take the vent line and put three loops of fuel line and place a tie wrap on the frame to hold it up vertically. That way it won't leak fuel when moving it around. If fuel does get in one of the loops it will be sucked back up when running as air is drawn into the tank as it runs down.

As Guydodge said, the clunk must stay in the fuel at all times. Make sure that the tygon fuel line is flexible. The standard clunk from Bergen should work fine as long as the length of the fuel line is correct.

OK, thanks for al the tips. I got it figured out now and it works fine.

Here are some build pics.

Soon I will post a link to a full report of building with lot of foto's. Together with a friend of mine I will make a video of building a Bergen Intrepid EB Gasser.

I just painted the canopy.

Imagine what you can do with a few spraycans and some masking tape....
