I saw the website, but how much does it really take to get a Bergen Turbine in the air? I saw them fly at ircha se, I have seen all the Bergen videos here on helifreak, even saw one crash and it looks like the touffest and best turbine on the market. Of course, I have to get approval from my wife, first before buying, and I need to know complete RTF costs from anyone who has one please.

3D...

Kit: $6495 (includes blades)
3 Servos: $330 (approx)
RX: $160 (approx)
Gyro/ servo: $200 - $350
Batteries: $100 - $410 (Bergen recommends Duralite, they have a package for $410, but you can run NiCad's or another brand of Lipo's...I am using Fromeco products on mine...which costs less than 1/2 of the Duralite system)

You will also need a CO2 fire extinguisher, something to pump fuel into your bird so add between $150 and $400 for those two items

so lets see...about $8000 tops for everything...a little less if you go with the less expensive gyro, servos, batteries, manual fuel pump...that might drop you down to around $7700...

I don't think I missed anything...but I am sure some one will jump in if I did...:D

Tell the Misses 10k "out the door" then you can have money for fuel and stuff too. Any money left over... buy her some sort of "bling". I hear women like that stuff

You didn't necessarily "forget" them Greg, you probably already had them around.

Don't forget, I've put together a few of these now, maybe not quite perfected yet, but I'm getting close!!

Another 2 Turbines ordered. I'll be building one for Dakine (Tony) and the other is for a rep Tom Knight. He wants to build his own Wren Turbine as a learning experience.

I'll be posting updates for Dakine online and will include them here with Will's OK.
