View Full Version : Will there be 10S packs larger than 4200mah?

For the Logos I actually prefer a heavier pack, well it needs it as well to balance really well. I use a 5000 to 5350mah pack. Is outrage considering making a larger pack than the existing 4200mah 10S1P pack?
Thx

Shawn,
Most people will go for 2 x 5000mah 5s1p.
than a 10s pack.

Fair enough, I guess where I am going with this is I myself and many other Logo flyers are 10S1P pack people, a single stick solution is much better for me for a few reasons. I do not like to make series plugs to reduce connections, as well the "one" pack is easier to handle for strapping down in the frame itself. Currently using a FP 5350mah pack as it has about the right amount of weight. Your 4200 is roughly around the same weight as the FP4350mah which is abit light feeling for my liking as well the CG does not work out as well. Imho of course but a 4500-4800 30C 10S1P pack would rock and be in the right range for weight. Just my opinion of course....
I am looking for alternatives and I really do not want to do series bundling myself...

Yes I agree with Shawn (OICU812) on this and would like a larger 10s pack for the Logos.

For reference a FP5350mah Evolite is 1245 grams with connectors, this is a good weight as it allows room to move with different setups for CG, 4350mah with connectors is 1115-1120 grams, this is on the light side and being longer packs you run out of room and still tail heavy... Optimum weight range for the Logo 600 in 10S configuration is around 1220-1260 grams.

Shawn and Jeremy,
I will look into this may see what we can do on the XP lite 20C

Charley it looks according to specs...This is for (5000mah) pack configs, no need for the Lite series here in this discussion, we're looking for the big power :D :)
5S (25C) are 41x43x156.0mm and are 601 grams, making two with wires and what not likley 1230 grams which is a winner as a 10S1P pack.
Also the following for the 30C class.
5S (30C) are 46.5x43x156.0 and are 622 grams, making two with wires and what not likely 1255-1260 grams, still a decent weight as a 10S1P pack.
Both of these having the larger 5000mah packs would offer great cell life and power for sure. Both would fit and work easily in the Logo Helis as well as Raptors and a few others.
Now if you consider the 4500mah packs the 4500-5000mah packs would be ok to, only they are again, a tad on the lighter side unless the specs are abit out as the 4500mah 25C packs cells come out shown as 538 grams per 5 cell pack config and the 4500mah 30C packs come out shown as 562 grams...
According to this data the (25C) 5000mah 10S1P pack coming in around 1225-1250grams is a winner. As well according to this data the (30C) at 1240-1270grams is also a winner. Specifically however for todays helis needs and demands the 5000mah 25C pack in stick config would be the best balance for weight and power.
Now if a 4500mah pack was considered the (33C) would be much more desireable as each 5Cell brick is 571 grams, and I am guessing reality of 585-600grams is more within reason, This as well would be my second choice for sure as a performance pack for my helis for sure.
So top choice summary for a 10S1P wish lipo would be
10S1P 4500mah (33C) in stick config 1200grams approx (+or- 20gm)
10S1P 5000mah (25C) in stick config 1230grams approx (+or- 20gm) << This is actually soundng best....
10S1P 5000mah (30C) in stick config 1250grams approx (+or- 20gm)
:D

Shawn,
We may have 10S1P 4500mah 35C about 1220g.
Let me discuss with our team and we should be able to get these are very soon.

35C @ 1220grams for real???? :wow2: WOW that is light man! Can I ask would the cycle life be improved by running larger cells in such case meaning would a 25C 10S1P 5000mah pack provide a more consitent voltage and offer more cycle life than say your example of the 4500mah 35C pack? This is the case with some other manufacturers so I ask that.

I'd like to see the 10s pack up to at least 5000mah

Personally, I'd still be curious if >5000mAh could be achieved with a 20C setup. 100A continuous is plenty for me, leaving room for more mAh, hopefully.
the 5350mAh from FP at 17C seem to be working fine for me so far, although I still hope to get my Neu 1912 back in it someday, which is probably a lot more amp-hungry...

John the thing is though bud if a lipo is 25C or greater your packs will run cooler and you will get more cycle life in the long run. Being there is head room by size of cells and by discharge rate. The current 5350 you speak of work well because of the cell size itself, that compensates for the odd "over C" pull on the heli, now if you have both combined you would be happier.

any update on these packs?
I am trying to get a "true" status of these packs now...according to my PO's we should have received both 10S 5000 30C stick and 10S 5000 25C Stick yesterday...but I haven't got confirmation of this yet...
Once they are received they will be updated and listed as "new products" on the helidirect website...so keep an eye out for them!
I am dying to try one also! :D
