Hi guys!

I'm build my first Stratus from scratch. I'm using all Futaba gear. 9Z, 9252's. Setup everything per the excellent manual. Servo horns are 90 Deg with no subtrim, Bell Cranks are 90 Deg, Swash Is level at high, mid, lo, washout is level at mid stick, bellmixers are Level at Mid Stick.

Problem is I have 0 Deg at mid stick with +15 at the top and -11 at the bottom.

I know I can "fix" it with pitch curves but I would like ot get the pitches to be even on both sides before I pull the Pitch down with Curves. I want to run +11 -11 in normal and Idle up, and I want to run -11 +all I can get in hold.

not sure how to go about getting things equal on both sides?

Your throw geometry is definatly off. Also make sure the blades that you have are symetrical (airfoil is the same on both sides of the centerline) it should say on the box. I ordered a set of sabs on time and they sent me the wrong set. It drove me crazy to why I was getting more throw one way and not the other with everything 90* and level. Just check to see if you blades are symetrical if they are then your setup is off.

Terry,
Shorten the three rods from the bellcranks to the swashplate a couple of turns each. Just make sure all 3 rods stay the same length. This will pull the swashplate down some. Then you will need to lengthened the rods from the inner swash to the bell mixer. You will probably have to lengthen the rods from the fly bar to the washout also to get the arms to set level. You have plenty of pitch range. By doing what I am suggesting you can make it +13 to -13 in just a few minutes. Then you will be able to use the Pitch AFR function in the swash menu on the radio to get the pitch range what you want it to be. 12/12, 11/11 or what you want.

Cool I dropped the 3 bellcrank to swash links down 4 turns and am now at -10.5 + 11.5 so I guess I only need 1 or 2 more turns. I felt funny about adjusting those links because it made the washout not be 90 deg. Didn't realise I could fix that with the washout to flybar links!!

Thanks David!

Terry,
The only thing to be concerned with making the adjustment like I have suggested. Is make sure that when your at full negative pitch that the pins that go into the washout base from the head block stay engaged. Just pull the collective stick all the way to negative pitch and make sure the pins are engaged.
