Seems no one has any kits in stock. Every site says backorder or pre order.
Has anyone experienced any parts issues as well? As much as I would like one, I don't want to jump in too soon.

there are some issues with parts missing, or not machined correctly. Multiple threads over at otherr site.
that said, Avant is seeming to make good on any errors very quickly.
Personally, I own and fly a TREX700 and am building this Aurora to compliment it. My 2cents are, if you are sport flying and not a top pilot the TREX700 is very good quality and builds very very easy. If you are a great pilot and can wring everything out of your heli. Want something that is higher quality and more "tuneable" to your flying ability and sytle, looks nicer(subjective but IMO true somewhat), and has a higher "status", then the Aurora is nice.
I'm experiencing some toothing pains during my build though, so I'm a bit put off with that. Nothing catastrophic, but my expectations are a bit deflated due to some missing shims for spacing the front torque tube gears. Luckily the 0.3mm shim alone on each shaft seems to be ok. I was missing the 0.2mm shims. The machining for my clutch hub wasn't good and took me about 2 hours of time to work around. My clutch bell bearing is bad out of the box. My swash has the vertical movement that some are describing, I would guess 1mm of verticle play. I was expecting better than Align swash, and maybe it is, but still a bit put off. My canopy looks cheaply made IMO. I will have to put alot of work into making it nice.
I only just got into heli's this past Jan of 2008. So my expectations for kits etc... are tainted by the fact I've been spoiled with how "current" generation kits are made and assembled. I know alot of you guys from way back expected to bang on things with hammers, rework faulty machining, perform work arounds to get things together. I work too long and too hard to spend this much time re-doing stuff. I have no doubt this will be a nice heli when done. But I've come very close serveral times to just packing it in a box and selling it as is. Going to stick it out, but have decided to keep my OS91SZ that will be regulated, and put my YS 91SR that's coming in something else. Basically, I'm not sure this will be my flagship heli like I expected.:dontknow

That is sorta what I expected from what I have been reading. That's all I needed to know. Thanks. Looks like I will be on the lookout for a 700. I love my 500 and 600, so I probably can't go wrong with adding a 700 to the lineup.

Its puzzling after all the time and effort that went into the release of the Aurora that such a large number of recipients of the kit are complaining of missing, improperly machined, or defective parts. Defective parts at times can be missed in QC, but MISSING parts is unacceptable at the frequency mentioned in the threads. It may be insignificant to some, but when you spend approx $1000.00 on a kit I think it is reasonable that ALL of the parts that you paid for are in the box !! Perhaps some mention of what is being done to correct the problem may provide some reassurance.

I am still waiting for my pre-order Aurora. The problem is that nobody can tell me when it arrives Norway. I have asked me local dealer and he says that he don’t know and that he is waiting for news from AvantRC. I have sent email too Avant and they say that I have to ask my local dealer... Great service, ha ha :(
I am really starting to suspect that I will never get my Aurora. I am sow tired of all the years of waiting. I am sure that AvantRC must have big problems at this time, perhaps a bankruptcy is close.

After the posts I have read and the replies in this one...There is no way I would even consider this kit. Not saying it isn't great for some, but I work too many hours and just don't have the time to dedicate to a kit that doesn't just go together. And missing parts...forget that. Difinitely don't have time for those hassles.
Don't want anyone going off one me...I did say, I am sure it is good for some folks. I simply like a kit that doesn't require any extra machining or phone calls to tech support to get missing parts.

I just thought of something else. THIS SUCKS!
I would really really love to buy into a made in the USA heli. But, unfortunately, I find that everything I buy that has a made in the USA sticker on it is either missing parts, is low quality, out of alignment (my furniture) or just flat out isn't up to the same standards as things made in other countries. This blows my mind.
I stopped buying american made cars for this same reason. I gave up on Ford and Chevy 4 BMWs ago. I feel like such a sellout, but I simply cannot justify paying money for something that doesn't stand up. If you ignore where it's made and just compare products side by side, american made stuff is just crap. I hope america can get its sh*t together and fix this, but I am really afraid it might be too late. We make too much money and simply cannot compete. We have prices ourselves out of the market.
Anyway, it just sucks that you guys didn't come on here and say the Aurora is amazing. The thing slaps right together, no issues. Works right out of the box. That's what I would have expected. Instead I read about parts missing and parts not machined correctly. That is just not good, and for those like me who don't have access to a machine shop or the tools to make things right....it simply is out of the question to jump into that kind of trouble.
After puting a lot of research into the 700 and realizing it isn't that much bigger than my 600, I think I will hold off on making the move. I do want a 90...but not that badly. I would rather have an Aurora, so I might just hold out for the next version...the one that includes all the parts in the box, and all machined correctly.

In thru the nose, out thru the mouth. ;-)
There have been a few people that say that very thing. I have one. Was everything perfect? .. No. .. But it's no big deal. I've never owned one that was. The quality of the materials IS superior to any other helicopter I've built. It's a new company with new people bagging kits and making parts for the first time. The QC isn't perfect, but they're quick to get the parts out and acknowledge some hiccups. If someone asks where they can buy one of these helicopters sends you into a two thread rage involving Ford, Chevy, and your couch it's not the helicopter for you.

It was actually a trunk/chest. It's the Equal Opportunity Employment laws that get us. We let the blind, deaf and dumb build stuff. It was a blind and dumb guy that built my trunk. It was one of those unfinished custom jobs and I didn't realize it was junk until I was painting it. Have you ever tried to return furniture...it's as bad as trying to return a car.

So far, I've enjoyed building mine. First one went together well and the second is close to completion. I've never gotten a kit that was perfect out of the box in every way shape and form. The materials used and the general quality has been above what I have seen in other models.

Does anyone know for sure the dates of the 2nd batch of Aurora's. When they are going to hit the stores? Everyone is getting excited but sad they dont have one to fly.
Agusta can you help with releasing some accurate info.
Thanks

As an aside, I called about 10 different shops and asked that they call me or email me when a kit came in. I've been called back by three shops, so it's out there. I already have two, so there seems to be some kits out there that aren't spoken for.

This is one of ...if not the most expensive heli on the market today. I dont mind paying for quality, and thought I was, but if you read my other posts, my kit has so far had several odd issues that are not of good QC...(quality control). You all say the parts are of high quality, and granted most APPEAR to be....but missing threads, bearings not seated, missing parts, are not of the caliber i expected from a kit this expensive. I would gladly have paid another $20 for my kit, to have had it really inspected before it left the factory..and thats a great salary for a QC person. My kit as supplied IS NOT buildable and I have yet to get a real resolution from Augusto ....im not a happy camper. Even if it flies like none ive never had, its going to be tough to get the bad taste out of my mouth so far.

Not to mention when/if you crash it and you cannot get the parts you need, that's what set me off buying one.

I get tired of hearing about getting parts issues. People have crashed these birds already and have had no problems getting parts to get back in the air. The only parts issue is getting all your parts in the original kit.

Not at first but shops have only gotten so many parts and no new stuff has arrived yet, same goes for the kits.

HeliProz has all parts in stock now. I have just ordered a ton of back up stuff and got it today.
But no one has kits yet.
I got my Aurora up in the air today it is so sweet.... First flight finished the kit yesterday...
It might be too early to tell, but let us know what you think of the Aurora compared to the N9 when you get a few flights in. Just curious. Thanks :)

Heliproz is still missing several key parts. There is no listing for the bottom plate, electronics tray, or canopy breakoff tabs.
